Wall and trim color to go with BM White Dove cabinets? Help please. :)
Comments (20)I would love to see pictures also as i have White Dove kitchen Cabinets and was looking at using Winds Breath for all the walls in the house and White Dove for all the doors and trim,in pearl finish . My floors through out the house will be Ambiance’s Hickory Silver Mint which is a hand scraped Hickory greige, very warm. I sometimes see mauve in the floor and if the Winds Breath can lean towards a pink hue will this bring the mauve out of the floor or will the floor bring the pink out of the walls. The kit hen, dining and living room face south so very bright with natural light. All out lights are 4000K. Would appreciate any help. Comments (6)I would just change the sheen unless you want more contrast. I would not use White Opulence in this situation because they are both too close but too different. It would be just "off" in that head scratching way. Now I do know White Opulence very well,as I've used it for all my trim and all the kitchen cabs in this house....See MorePlease help! Comments (23)@hemina Hey i have Oxford white as my wall and chantilly Lace as my trim in my family room abd I love it but I have Oxford white as my trim in other rooms now if you go on The Benjamin moore site they now actually list Oxford white and Chantilly Lace as cordinating/matching colors They also list White Dove as a similar color to oxford white.. Comments (4)Thanks I took a look and brought a paint swatch sample to the store, but in person neither of those colors worked. I am looking at Hunter Douglas Journal and Aspen White. Also looking at Bali Dove White and Almost white. Its tricky as the Bali Dove White looked right if blind sample was stretched out, but if it is crinkled (as in a partially raised blind) it looks too yellow.. The room gets good light during the day. I am leaning toward Hunter Douglas Journal. Does anyone have any experience a white white honeycomb blind matching BM white dove trim well? The painter put eggshell samples of several colors I considered up on the walls, about 1' squares, wall onto trim: White, Cloud White, Steam, Snowfall White, Dove White, Chantilly Lace. Steam looks great as a wall color, a bright, beige-ish white. The problem is the trim. The paneled center hall is 2 stories high (20') and includes the entire hallway of the upper level. The painter recommends painting this whole space, from crown molding on the 2nd floor down to baseboards on the first floor, with my trim paint. The salesperson at the paint store told me to be careful about going too bright (she specifically warned about Chantilly Lace). I'm attaching a picture of a similar space (not mine). I love the color in this picture, but I have no idea what it is.
