Paint Design Dilemma Kitchens

Cabinet/Island Paint color with Taj Mahal Quartzite

I am looking for feedback in terms of a cabinet/island paint color to go with Taj Mahal Quartzite. I am leaning toward

BM Vanilla Ice Cream or BM white Dove

on cabinets, and on island either BM Iron Mountain or BM Deep Creek.

With Taj, we chose a soft warm white that was one of the standard whites offered by the cabinet company. For walls we chose SW Accessible Beige. Taj varies quite a bit slab to slab, so be sure that you are finalizing your other colors against your actual slab, rather than a sample from a different slab.

You could post a picture of your slab, pics of those paint colors and a picture of your kitchen to get replies...

I used taj with light cabs in my mudroom which I use as a sort of butlers pantry (for me, aka the butler...the baker , the candlestick maker). Looks fabulous. And a gal I worked with did honed taj in her all white kitchen...gorgeous, I promise. I would not introduce another counter. The taj is plenty subtle.

We are using Taj Mahal quartzite for the periphery of kitchen countertop. It’s a large kitchen and will use two slabs for the periphery countertops and the back splash. Our Taj Mahal Is with greenish tint. I am asking for suggestion of another exotic quartzite or if not maybe granite for the central island that will be about 8 feet by 5.5 feet . Any suggestions?

I have a similar problem. I moved into a home with Taj Mahal quartzite, need to paint cabinets and picked white dove but want to have accent color on the island. My backsplash is an ivory glass tile which looks pretty minty green. Any moody blue to try and bring some blue into the room? I was looking at trout gray or wolf gray. Will this look terrible? Also I’m thinking satin bronze pulls to bring out the gold in the Taj Mahal.

@typeandrun, thank you for the response and feedback. Just out of curiosity, was honing an option when you were making your decision. This gives it the matte look but without the texture. We are going with a dark greenisland and warm white perimeter cabinets and I really like the Taj Mahal. I just want to make sure I get slabs that are more cream than beige. That's the toughest part b/c they look so different in the warehouses than they will in real life.

Hello:

There are people on this site who typically recommend a particular paint color that compliments Taj and hopefully they will see the post. I cannot remember the color!

I am facing this same issue. My decorator brought a sample of iron gray to go with the Taj Mahal, but I'm not sure about it. In your scheme, I like the one labeled "A". She also said White Dove was too yellow, at least for my sample of Taj and to use Super White. I'm leaning toward SW Greek Villa.

imshasta - We just painted out cabs White Dove. I know lighting plays a HUGE rule in the final result of the colors we choose, but our White Dove is def. not yellow. If anything, it has more of a very faint gray undertone.
