I think I might keep the 2 at each end. Remove middle one for can recessed light. There is a walk way and it's a working island . ......so these lights are kind of crowding in and don't accomplish that much.....changing styles isn't an improvement....I'd almost remove all 3 for 3 recessed cans but the style blends w table fixture beyond. What this needs is a streamlined approach and keep things really pared down. the cabs have enuf detail for the space....maybe change hardware if anything. It's a good kitchen.

When you say Change the hardware, do you mean the cabinet hardware? Since this picture has been taken, we now have under counter lighting which has made a huge improvement and also cabinet lighting in the top little cabinets.

We are expanding and adding a new large family room directly off the kitchen. Since the ceiling is vaulted, (12’) I would like to add a central light fixture. I was considering this one, hence the reason to change the current kitchen island fixtures to gold.

I thought by changing the island fixtures, it would tie into the large room being added.

Additionally, there will be another dining area added, with a harvest table and I was considering this fixture over the harvest table. The picture below is showing different light bulb options. Edison led bulbs will probably be selected.

Thoughts?

I think the major offense is that the fixtures are not centered on the island...(where no one can reach them)....and if you go with the chandelier you like ...the kitchen lites should match the metal color...

Obviously the fixtures are too close to the edge. But I wonder whether you could remove the baubles hanging down from the center of each fixture. Not only would this simplify the fixtures but it would have the effect of raising the fixtures. If you still hit the modified fixtures, you could always raise them a bit.
