Finally got my toms planted out!
Comments (5)I'm trying Tomatoes for the first time because my father asked for them. I have to do it in containers. Should I have containers covered with black plastic like yours, PV? I planted 1 basil and 1 marigold in the containers. I don't know why other than I read somewhere that basil is a good tomato "companion" and marigolds supposedly deter tomato horn worms. I've got Tomato containers out by rose garden with all containerized Zinnia and other nectar plants deer/rabbits eat. I had to put up chicken wire fencing all around area and stakes pointing outward to keep deer from intruding. You can see it from the street and even I think it looks ridiculous so you know it must look bad but that's what's needed...LOL. Let me know if I should put black plastic over top of containers on Toms, PV. Thanks. :)...See MoreI finally got my diving pool...and my son tested it out PICS
Comments (10)The fence situation is the kink of the whole property, and is causing me the biggest grief right now. What you can't tell from the photo is that the pool is actually raised higher than the yard behind it, and there is approximately 10 feet behind/between the pool fence and the split rail fence that runs the perimeter of the yard. The lattice is largely there for privacy, as none of the pools in our area have fences for code. Neighborhood rules dictate that you can have a privacy fence around your pool, provided it's far enough back from the property line. (Where the split rail fence is) I want to do just what you're saying, but it would be ALOT of money right now. They'd basically have to come in and build a new retaining wall behind the pool, add fill dirt to bring the surface level with the existing pool deck to expanding the area (to allow for flowers and the like), and then we could fence around that. However, we would then be very close to the setback requirements. Arrgghhhhh....... Since we're so far over budget on the interior renovation, this project may have to wait until next year. :(...See MorePKponder, I finally cleaned out my pond and repotted the lilies

Comments (27)in the shelter I volunteered no partially opened toilet items, not used underwear either. Big stores donated opened underwear packages so not a huge problem. Additionally, cash donations were used to buy undies and other high demand items and very good discounts.. Other than legal issues, and you never know who's gonna sue, I think it was a morale booster for the clients to come out with "new stuff", no matter how small, it was something they simply weren't in a position to get for themselves. I liked the link for the alternative uses. If you just don't want to think too much about it, maybe dump contents and recycle containers. You'd still be a good citizen of the world. I do use soap, dish, detergent, any, for the soil. I used to be one of those that had a cabinet full of hair potions but finally got smart and learned to not grab the latest and greatest every time I was at the store....See Moresara_ann-z6bok
