Your kitchen is STUNNING! As was said above, gray is a hot trend right now...do you follow trends? I always tell people "if you're keeping your home and you want purple cabinets, get purple cabinets" a color is a commitment, and if you plan to sell in the next couple of years, the next buyer may not like. Grays a also tricky. Some pull blue, some brown, some taupe, some yellow, some green. It may be tough to match in the future so be careful if you go gray.

This is a very nice, very large house. I doubt those are cheapo cabinets that got a cheapo paint job just for listing. However, I do believe that to match the style of the rest of the house, the owner may soon want to replace the cabinets with something new and more upscale. Until that time, I'd paint behind the cabinets (there's no backsplash, correct?) in a complimentary color to the rest of the house, maybe paint the island and wait until the remodel happens. Otherwise it's a nice kitchen. Elizabeth (OP) - Many people do not realize that a real estate listing photo is very easy to find with a google search. You have a beautiful house. I can’t speak to the other colors, but I recently used Peppercorn on exterior doors and a brick fireplace. I’m very happy with the look. Gray with only a hint to the blue. Here’s pics.

cdisimone - I have very similar color cabinets and granite in my kitchen except my backsplash is lighter and floors are very dark porcelain, wood look tile. I've been looking for a color that will work throughout the majority of my house too. After weeks of deliberating, I started with my dining room and painted Shoji White last night. Not sure I like it....it does not look warm or creamy in my house at all. It looks like a very light cool gray. :-( I was going more for a warm white so I can brighten things up but still have the warm, cozy feel. I'm going to give it a few days before continuing on through the rest of my house. My suggestion is to paint an entire wall or much larger sample on your wall before deciding!
