Taj Mahal & Warm White Cabinets
Comments (2)Wow the Taj Mahal is just stunning. If you have a sample of your cabinet take it to the stoneyard with you. I bet you will find that it looks very nice together. Good luck and please post pics of it!...See MoreNeed help with best paint color to go with Taj Mahal quartzite!
Comments (12)I have a similar problem. I moved into a home with Taj Mahal quartzite, need to paint cabinets and picked white dove but want to have accent color on the island. My backsplash is an ivory glass tile which looks pretty minty green. Any moody blue to try and bring some blue into the room? I was looking at trout gray or wolf gray. Will this look terrible? Also I’m thinking satin bronze pulls to bring out the gold in the Taj Mahal....See MoreBright white cabinets with Taj Mahal quartzite counters?
Comments (13)Recently my Dad asked sibs and I to manage a whole house remodel of his vacation home. He chose Taj Mahal for the kitchen, and it is just so so beautiful. Congrats to you on such a wonderful choice. It's so creamy and lovely. We selected bright white cabinets, but they aren't "hospital" white. I would say they are bright, but soft. We only had 3 white choices in the cabinet line, so we picked the middle one. One white was too cool and "in your face" white, and one was kind of leaning yellowy, and seemed dingy. The middle one was the best choice for us; it was bright but soft. For backsplash, we didn't want to compete with the beauty of the Taj. We chose a soft off-white 3 x 6 crackle tile installed in a typical subway tile pattern. It's Crossville, Market Collection, Ashbury, "Fleece Crackle." That collection has lots of shapes and sizes, but we chose 3 x 6. The crackle finish brings a little bit of dimension, but it's not busy, so doesn't compete with the Taj. We chose a grout that matched the tile color as closely as possible. Here's a pic of my Dad's house: Good luck with your project. I just love love love Taj. I wish I have it in my home....See MoreBacksplash with Taj Mahal counter
Comments (4)I can't comment on the pearlescent question, but I can say that it took us a long time to find our backsplash for Taj Mahal. We ended up choosing Crossville Market Street Ashbury Collection 3 x 6 tiles in the color "Fleece Crackle." This collection has lots of colors, shapes and sizes, and there were several light neutral colors. There are so many zilions of tiles, it can be overwhelming, but this is the one we finally settled on. Crackle finish doesn't give you the pearlescence you are seeking, but it does give a little bit of visual dimension while remaining a smooth surface. When we were searching, we wanted a calm backsplash that wouldn't compete with the Taj....See MoreMolly
