ML, we are looking at Angle World/ Durato's V-Evo in the color called Bean Town. It is 12 mils. It's between that and Flooret's "base" in the color called Kingswood. Both are 12 mils. I have read in many reviews that anything more is overkill. I'm happy to see you have Angle World/Durato and you like it. Please let me know if it's the V-Evo or something different. (It's all very confusing with these names and sub-names and product lines being ever so different within the manufacturer. The more we look, the more confused we become.) Thank you!

If you haven’t already done so, Google—SPC versus WPC and read about the differences. SPC is more stable than the WPC, and as you mentioned, the SPC can withstand temperature variables and sun better than the WPC. If you get an SPC with an attached pad, I don’t think you will find it to be uncomfortable to stand on. We are putting down an SPC product, Supercore, from WeShipFloors.com, and I put several planks of it in front of my kitchen sink and stove and left it for several days. I did not find it to be uncomfortable at all. I love that it‘s not slippery like some of the WPC products I had samples for. The SPC will be able to handle heavy furniture better than the WPC which is another reason we chose the SPC. WeShipFloors.com sells the Adura products as well as the SuperCore. Not all laminates are created equal, and the same is true of LVP. LVP is softer on the feet but is more prone to indentations from furniture as well as sun damage (warping or fading) from windows. It's not super common, but it does happen, even with some of the mid-grade brands. We chose laminate flooring and LOVE it. I did a lot of research and the one we chose has a nearly waterproof core, meaning a puddle of water is not going to soak in and damage the floor. Not all laminates are like this though. We've had it for 3 years and it's been a dream to take care of. It's installed throughout our main floor, including the kitchen and half bath. I would not put laminate, hardwood, or LVP in a full bathroom or laundry room but that's just my opinion. I would do tile in those areas. Anyway, we're very happy with our laminate (except it was installed wrong initially and they had to redo it) and would choose it again. I decided against LVP because it can scuff, etc and we have two dogs. Our particular laminate is way more durable than the LVP we looked at (mainly Coretec) and looks brand new.

Thought I would also update this thread since it popped back up. We moved into our new build 2 months ago and ended up choosing engineered wood for most of the house, except the mudroom, laundry room and their connecting long back hallway, which got tile. I can close this area off and the dogs stay here if we are gone for several hours. Their food and water is also kept in the laundry room. The floors are Duchateau - Riverstone collection - Sava color. So far they have not shown any scratches from the dogs making the crazy run to the front door when they hear the doorbell and/or fedex! The floors have a rustic look and slight texture that will make it easier to hide any scratches and dents.
