How small is too small for container?
Comments (3)I think you mean Pink Surprise Amaryllis, or actually, Hippeastrum. Those pots that come with the bulbs are garbage, as is the soil or soil disk. Trash. Get rid of them! You bulb will absolutely require a pot with drainage holes! I prefer unglazed clay pots because they allow the roots to "breathe" and they allow excess salts to leach out through the porous material. I would obtain a pot that will allow about 2 or 3 inches of space around the bulb once it's potted. I would plant it in a well-draining, porous medium... and I would water with care. Hippeastrum bulbs do not like "wet feet", and will rot if over-watered. Make sure the soil dries out in between waterings. Feed your bulb with whatever fertilizer you prefer... I use a liquid at half strength every other time I water. Now that your bulb is finished blooming, it will grow leaves. It will require plenty of light and good care. If it receives good care, it will recharge and hopefully set new buds for next bloom cycle. It won't grow a new bulb... the one that is there will simply continue to grow... it may grow offsets, though. I hope this answers your questions. Feel free to ask any others you may have. Good luck!...See MoreHow small is too small for a steam shower?
Comments (5)Once you have the steam shower, you'll want to use it every morning. Consider a re-design of the master bath. Our glass door is so easy to keep clean. We use Dow 'scrubbing bubbles' on it once a week and that's it. It's so nice to walk in to a warmed up shower. On days that I don't steam....walking in the shower isn't nearly as pleasant. It's great, too, for warming yourself up before bedtime...especially on chilly February nights. I just couldn't see myself using it so much if the steam shower was in the mudroom bath. My shower is in the 'bath gallery' under the top "traditional cherry with steam shower". Kompy...See MoreHow small is too small?
Comments (15)Like Isamae, I like to paper piece and some of the small pieces are what you need. I have a couple of boxes I just through them in and use as needed. Have to admit I am probably a pack rat. Recently, I was working with some friends who threw some trimmings off a block into the trash. I quickly retrieved it and later made a paper pieced pillow, a duck in water, for my grandson. The fabric I retrieved was perfect for the water and plenty to finish the pillow. I think my friends were impressed. :) It is a personal decision as to what you keep. If you can't use it maybe a friend can. Sally...See MoreHow small is too small for a bar sink?
Comments (3)What do you want to do with it? I have a small sink in a bar area--not in the kitchen--that is a rectangle. It is probably about 10 inches by 17. We don't really use it at all except that I keep a pitcher in there to fill and water plants by my front door. I would think about how you will use the sink. Will you need to put any certain pot/pan, etc. in there? If so, make sure it fits. Is is just to fill the coffeepot? I have a prep sink in my kitchen that is pretty big. Maybe 17x17. I made sure that my colander could fit in the sink. We use that sink a ton and have a disposal in it and also have a soap dispenser there. Think about the functionality of the sink. That is the key....See Moresheepla
