What do you think of this wall art for my living room?
Comments (15)Dang, I didn't come back to the thread to check and I've got the wrong piece over the piano! Anyway, I'd think it would be too small for your fp. Here it is at 36x24 over the piano. Too small but you could certainly flank it with a couple other pieces. Then I sized what I thought looked like a good size over the piano, at this room angle. As of now, without sitting on it, I do think I like the third one best, quite large, although that would depend on the fp wall as you don't want to dominate your focal. It does make a really nice vignette with your chairs, and I think it looks really pretty in your room, right on target. So, I'd get it regardless of where it ends up. The frame would be a fabulous price just in itself. I see it's still out there. The tapestry is gone, though. Hopefully you picked that one up. So, even though times have changed already! here's something to look at as food for thought. Oops! And the main reason I ps'd this was to move your chairs! lol. The one on the right, esp, needs to move out and away from the piano more. I'd also shift the fp one to the left a bit if you can. The piano needs to breathe more, and so do the chairs, I think. From the pic and plan, they would still seem close enough for conversation. I also tried to angle the fp one a little more inwards. I do love that ottoman there. Maybe angling the chair a bit would help it to not block the fp quite so much, although overlap is a good thing!...See MoreWhat do I do for ottomans/coffee table(s) in this living room?
Comments (5)Actually, it's your sofa on the left facing the chairs and possibly the love seat that need a table. The sofa facing the love seat has tables on each side therefore one in front isn't really necessary. You could take the table from your last layout, rotate it and place it closer to the sofa facing the chairs. Place a small table (very small) or garden stool to the right of the love seat for that person to place a drink on. Another option would be two storage ottomans that can be moved around depending on where someone is sitting. If the tops are firm enough a glass can be set on them when your feet aren't!! ;)...See MoreHelp, what to do with the blank wall in living room with high ceilings
Comments (4)Decorating happens where the people live. Lots of folks are closing in those massive open rooms and making a media room upstairs. Heating a wasted space isn't always all its cracked up to be. There is plenty going on below that space - in fact, a little to much, IMO. I don't get those blocky built-ins. They are just too chunky and country looking for your stylish architecture.Remove them and install lighted glass shelves with a marvelous collection of something you love - vintage silver pieces, art glass, or an interesting collection to keep the eyes in the people part of the room....See MoreWhat to do with this odd space in living room. Comments (15)If you created a wood top rail (and added a wood support on the wall without a rail), you might be able to set a Lucite panel or thick safety glass panel (or one way mirror - mirror side up) atop it. You could have the clear panel framed as if it were a picture and affix its wood frame to the wood railing....See Moregirl_wonder
