Help me design Master Bath/Closet
Comments (7)You're lucky to have such a large space! However, I wouldn't want to walk past the toilet to get to my closet. I'd move the entry to (large) Closet #1 via the linen. Create Closet #2 in the shower area. Move the shower opposite the toilet on the end of the bottom wall. Alternatively, leave the shower where it is but make the entry to your closet where the linen is. Move the linen opposite the toilet....See MoreNeed help with master closet
Comments (8)I totally understand the work gear. My dh actually has his work locker downstairs and a whole wall just like that with short and long sleeved uniforms - even with our new build much more organized closet there just isn't enough room! Will the 5' section be double rods? I too would ditch the water closet and rotate the toilet but that's such a personal preference so....YMMV. As for cubbies - will you have a space for 3/4 hanging for dresses or anything like that? It would leave enough space for a nice sized shelf that you could fit with plugs for charging. How much stuff does he need shelving for? Do you have space for linens in the master bath or are you trying to incorporate that also? Our closet is similar to yours but we split it one side is mine and the opposite is his. The uniforms do take up so much space, have you measured the space they currently are requiring? I will try to post a layout of our closet organizer later, I can't seem to locate the drawing right now....See MoreNeed help with master closet...
Comments (7)I prefer the hung systems over the built from floor up systems. The only time I go down to floor is for shelving or drawers. If I want to go down to floor is because I choose to, instead of having to. Hanging systems also allow sliding bigger / longer items under. They are also easier to clean. Less material which usually costs less. I design cabinets for 10+ years for several companies. I would only do hanging in my own application & suggest them to my clients. The hanging system is very secure when it goes into all the studs. Never had 1 fall & it's been many years. I have great installers....See MoreHELP with master bath and closet design!!
Comments (12)You could try turning your shower 90 degrees and putting it on the top of your bath, flipping the closet and accessing it from the dresser location, turning the powder room 90 degrees, and having the mudroom connect to that hall. you may have space for a small closet in the mudroom or in the hall. your end up with a smaller master closet though....See MoreJ J
