This is not a 'dilemma' of any sort. It's an inexpensive purchase with no real commitment. Don't like them? Take them back. Throw them out. Give them to the dog. This isn't a purchase that requires a team consultation.

Yaya and I apparently had the same response when seeing your room: Moroccan wedding blanket pillows. They're monochromatic and loaded with texture. Restoration Hardware has (or had) some that were gorgeous with astronomical prices.

Tatts consistently tells posters they have no dilemma, and seems to make it a priority to belittle others for simply using the forums. It is tiresome and completely unnecessary.

IdaClaire: My point is that no one should feel that there is anything great at stake for such a small decision. What if everyone in the country needed help making every $20 purchase? People should feel free to buy what they like and use it in their homes. Architectural Digest will never come knocking. And if people are worried about what their friends will think about their choice of pillows, then they need better friends.

It's all just noise, and it bumps real dilemmas off the front page where they are more likely go get help.

If something is permanent, costly, or one-time-only, that's different. And if there is a clear right way and wrong way (or dangerous way) to do something, that may pose a dilemma. But none of that is the case here and in similar questions (like buying a toaster, also posted yesterday).

HGTV has scared some people into thinking that there is only a particular way to do things and that every decision is important.

This is pillows! Buy 20 of them and rotate them with the season for all anybody cares. It's your home. And still not a dilemma.

Tatts, your logic is flawed and is actually nothing more than thinly-veiled snobbery. "Permanent, costly and one-time only" may very well be to someone else what you would consider an inconsequential expenditure. There are people from around the globe and of a wide range of socioeconomic levels posting here. To point-blank tell someone they don't have a dilemma because YOU consider the cost of their project insignificant is thoughtless and cruel. Please, just stop repeating this to people. It's so insensitive, and enough is enough.

The right pillows sometimes aren’t cheap. I recently spent quite a bit on 3. I have neither the budget nor storage for 20 (or even 10.) Before I retired I didn’t pay as much attention to this stuff, but I’m often house bound now and a pretty room is important to me. It impacts my mood. I recently splurged and bought a new dining room table and sideboard. It’s my first new one EVER, not a hand-me-down! Every time I walk into the room I’m delighted. I know it’s not important like front page news, but it helps me cope with front page news!

Etsy has an endless supply. People will make you whatever you want, in whatever size, color or fabric you want. The problem is often too much to choose from. Look at a magazine for inspiration. Then go to Etsy to find something similar or even better.
