HELP Mini bellpeppers dying
Comments (2)Well I see tons of aphids all over the plant for starters and symptoms of aphid infestation on many of the leaves. There are also some patches of a white mold or something that I can't ID from the photos. It could be egg masses but I don't really think so since they are so large. And some of the leaves in several of the pics look like slugs or something similar have been eating on them. Are the plants outside at all? That would help determine what has access to the plant. Otherwise does he keep the soil too wet? Peppers prefer to dry out between watering. Has he tried repotting the plant in fresh potting soil to eliminate any soil residents/disease? The death of the main stem tip is probably due to all the stress from the other infestations but when you blow it up it also looks like some sort of small beetle there. Can't tell for sure. Sorry I can't be of more help but it is clearly a very sick plant. Dave...See MoreHelp!! New mini roses dying?
Comments (2)Hi, repotting is necessary. Normally there are 4 little bushes in that tiny pot. Each one will need it's own pot since roses really don't like to share. Tease the roots apart trying not to loose to many. Roses like an acid soil so you'll want to put an additive in the potting soil to give it the right pH. I've heard the correct soil moisture to be described as like a well wrung out sponge. That description has helped me tremendously over the years. Also roses do drop their leaves during winter. They may get confused as to when winter is so if they drop their leaves don't consider them dead until their stems go brown. Best of luck with your miniature roses....See MoreMini Mauvette in zones 3 or 4. How are yours doing?
Comments (6)Terry, I have 'Incrediball', 'Invincibelle Spirit II', 'Invincibelle Ruby' and 'Invincibelle Limetta', the latter one being too new to judge, though all others have done very well, although 'Ruby' has been a bit slow to establish. Unfortunately, my 'Mini Mauvette' had up and died while still in the pot, had gotten some type of stem wilt and very quickly perished. A friend that lives in Edmonton, he love the thing, says the coloring of 'MM' is really nice, I'll be replacing mine! Oh, regarding flowering, they'll bloom the very first season when starting with the often offered gallon size plant. Also are long flowering and tend to hold their coloring well in our cooler northern temperatures!...See MoreAre these Mini Mauvette Hydrangea?
Comments (14)Thanks, nicholsworth! When I was at English Gardens yesterday, I could hardly believe the many different hydrangeas they had in stock, several that I have never even heard of. It's difficult to know which ones to purchase and try out! Plus, I am running out of available space in my garden beds. Hopefully you'll be able to find a Mini Mauvette in your area!...See Moreprideofownermichigan5b
