Yep! I had a really good picture but I can't find it. You could literally build a wall like this first picture (leave open at top to eliminate a very closed in feeling. Or buy cabinets (IKEA PAX has some great configurations) and use them to build an entertainment wall. Leave doors off one section for the TV but then use the other sides for game storage, etc. If you go this route make sure you have adequate support (build to and secure to ceiling or add a floor mounted support post to attach cabinets to). It feels like the tv is too far away already so a smaller area will be more cozy.

Move some things around to give you a good idea of how it will feel. Maybe tape a sheet to the ceiling to feel how it would be divided. I would leave the end near your French doors open for access and light.

Can you post a floorplan (a hand sketch is fine) with all the walls, windows, doors etc + dimensions?

I was also wondering about dividing up the space (but without a divider; I wouldn't want to block the light and my sense is that these two activities happen at different times.). So maybe the desk/office by the window side, and then put the TV on a stand by the stair railing (or whatever is in the foreground of the photo). Not sure if this will work with the room layout and that door. If there is room to put the sofa parallel with the back (brown?) wall (and still allowing passage to/from the door) you might be able to fit a piece of office furniture behind the sofa, like a lateral filing cabinet or low bookshelf etc.

FWIW, when I've done this myself, I've sketched the layout and then made cut-outs (to scale) of the furniture and moved them around to see where things will fit.

I like mnmamax3 ideas . #1..... I would also maybe try a 'low' folding screen, dividing the the left window space. Maybe the TV on the wall where sofa is now. The sofa opposite the TV, (TV might be too large?) leaving a walkway path behind sofa, then probably eliminating the second sofa and replacing with a chair or bench with a back.

#2. Keep the designated areas the same, as is. Replace the open shelving next to TV with a lower chest with closed storage. Replace the sofas with (2) love seat size sofas, or love seat & 2 chairs, forming an L shape. I don't know the size of your space. I think these pieces would be more versatile for arranging seating.

We might try placing the sofa facing the TV, floating in the room on the rug. Then place the chair where the desk is. This might work better for watching TV. If you have room once you float the sofa in the room, you might be able to place your office space behind the sofa.
