Steve, it’s one of my all time favorites, too. I’m glad you thought of it!

Apparently when someone asked Jimi Hendrix what it felt like to be the world’s greatest guitarist he said to go and ask this guy...

Of course we all know that Sweet isn't really a band, just posers. I still liked a couple of "their" songs.

Any of the crosswalk musicals are frenetic. I just chose what I think is the most recent. Plus, after this week: resist!

For the Gulf Coast

Still Raining

Jonny Lang

https://youtu.be/mn560Wesh-4

I thought this artist would have been more popular when I first heard his music. He is still around. He started with a big hit Lie to Me, when he was a teenager.

Apropos of absolutely nothing - this week is the 50th anniversary of the release of 2525. US Billboard #1 for 6 weeks beginning July 12, 1969.

I have no idea how to link the music, but for all those in NOLA, or, like me, thinking of people in NOLA, Feels Like Rain, by John Hiatt and Treme Song by John Boutte. And if anyone hasn't seen Spike Lee's 2006 documentary on Katrina, When the Levees Broke, highly recommend, it's equally compelling and heartbreaking, and left me wiser but sadder on the ways of the US.

Late to the party - as usual.

Not so very frenetic, but the sentiment is there. Sadly, still relevant after all these years...

Running, Jumping, Standing Still

(Spider) John Koerner (Elektra Records, 1967)

He inspired Bob Dylan. Great at word play.

”... I fell out of my family tree...”

This song (guitar, pace and lyrics) might be the definition of “frenetic.”

(I tried to find some footage of Koerner performing this; nothing yet.)

IzzyMN, re: Johnny Lang hitting it big. Me too! I used to play Red Light on loop.

I googled him and he's got a 2019 tour. Good to know he's still performing.

Had the great fortune to see many early-ish Springsteen concerts - and at least once he played this more frenetically than as recorded.

Blinded by the Light.

https://youtu.be/7Iaca30QbOo

The Wikipedia article on it is a good read if a Springsteen fan.
