Blank canvas for open floorplan
Comments (22)Cawaps, I think the trim was added later. There is similar style trim in the dining room, but it looks better there so we will probably leave it at least for now. I think it just looks out of place on the fireplace. Bpathome, I was thinking about bookshelves on the half wall, but I'm afraid that would hurt my furniture arrangement options. I was thinking about a sectional with a chaise lounge (the couch part would be under the balustrade and thr chaise section will stick out into the opening of thr room). I Maybe two chairs in front of the window so I can move them since that is where we're planning to put the Christmas tree. I will have to draw some floor plans. DH wants to have the LR finished (at least painted and with a sofa anyway) before Christmas....See MoreBlank canvas, a narrow family room with half vaulted ceiling

Comments (11)A lot of appliances come in a few standard sizes, such as a refrigerator. What your son might consider doing is measure for the widest refrigerator out there and the most narrow and both leave a space for the widest with a tall movable -- rather than built in -- a tall movable pantry cabinet the width of the difference, letting the buyers choose their own refrigerator -- and saving the builder(s) that cost. With the adjacent cabinet movable beside the refrigerator, the only cabinet that the buyer might need to redo to have their choice of appliance fit would be shrinking the width of the movable cabinet [Doing something similar with a dishwasher could work -- perhaps the adjacent movable cabinet (not built in) might be a wheeled trash can cart. A dishwasher that could be faced to blend with the base cabinet doors would make the color of appliances optional … in case the buyer wants or can only afford white. A basic Delta faucet with an arc (about $100 last spring) would work with a deep double stainless steel sink -- and they would work with either stainless or with white appliances.] A built in stove top and/or ovens would be considerably more difficult to do something similar with them. A stainless steel stove top would work with black oven door(s) -- which could work with either stainless or white refrigerator....See Moreblank canvas in dining room
Comments (17)Full curtain panels; 2 to 2 /12 width of window. Do the front window the same way to connect the two areas. Linen type tie on chair cushions to soften and cozy up the table. Tall large vase with something big and full in it for the dining table. The back wall might be fun in an accent color; you could also paint a design on the wall with bit wide stripes going in all directions in a very pale blue, grey, cream to relate to the area rug under the table; google on Houzz or look on You tube for how to's. You need big stuff to fill the room. Bright color on the wall, patterned curtains, cushion on chairs, big bowl and plant and candles on the table; cozies up the room, although this is a very traditional room, it has similar color and lines of your dining table and similar window size and rug on floor blends with curtains.....just a visual if you will....See MoreLukki Irish
