SO confused about flooring for sunroom !!!
Comments (4)ccoombs . . . thanks for your input !! Probably when it all comes down to it, we will end up going with sheet vinyl/fiberfloor . . are they the same thing ?? I should know by now, I guess . . . but still in the land of confusion !! Who woulda thunk that a simple floor for the sunroom would cause so much angst ??!!!!! Not me !!! cynnamama . . . thanks for your input, also !! Had at one point considered cork . . . but I believe it has to be glued down, and because of water problems we had at one time, it's been advised to use something other than glue-down. I do love cork, however . . . I'm with you on the not knowing how to post pictures !! Something I need to learn !!!! The entire time of the kitchen remodel . . . I could never post pics to visualize what I was talking about !! MANY people tried step by step to explain it to me . . . Again . . . thank you both for your input !! Appreciate it !! Comments (14)I live in zone 8 (south of France) and my Mermaid, planted in a walled garden, against a high wall, West exposition, got big really quick. It is now huge going up higher than our second floor windows. It is extremely sturdy but the branches are very breakable. The size of the flowers has improved tremendously over the years. See MoreWhat is your garden style?
Comments (33)Wow what beautiful gardens everyone has! I am getting tons of inspiration. nanadoll: Hi I think you are right about growing some wild bright colored climbing roses in with the brugmansia. That would help them to stand out. The only climbers I have now are softer colors except I have Pat and CPM (DA) on order that are little more orange. I will look for something bright like Pinata or St Joeseph's Coat to put in with the wild things lol. I eventually want to plan 'garden rooms' and kinda transition from the tropicals to different areas with different styles and looks but blended together somehow with pathways. mustbnuts: I think we are kindred spirits. I grow lotus in pots also! I also grow several tropical waterlilies and one hardy yellow waterlily in water pots as well. I have a small patio pond but there are fish in it that like to eat the plants lol. Here is a pic when I first started them. Later On JJPeace: You would be surprised at what some Canadians are growing as far as brugmansia and tropicals. There are a few Canadians on GW that have brugmansia gardens that put mine to shame. ruth_ann in Ontario who posts on the brugmansia forum is one :) She plants them out in the spring then cuts them back and lets them go dormant no watering and stores the pots in a frost free area overwinter. Many elephant ears are very hardy especially the colocasias. Here's a few gingers to brighten up the winter blahs. These are Globba gingers and are hardy to zone 7b/8 but can be stored dry in their pots overwinter somewhere above freezing....See MoreI just read Shaw Floor through Costco reviews OMG! Now what?
Comments (112)I can comment on Pergo flooring. I had it installed about 12 years ago through Lowes. We had a very experienced flooring installer put them in. He did lots of prep work first: screwed down all the floor boards prior to installing the Pergo and all my flooring squeaks went away. My Pergo looks as good today as the time it was installed. I have dropped items on this flooring over the years: no dings or scratches. My brother who is a real estate appraiser for expensive properties was surprised it was Pergo and not wood. I can not say enough about Pergo. Best of luck in your decision. Always research and read lots of reviews on any projects you plan to do. The time you spend is worth it❣️❣️...See MoreGreenDesigns
