Exterior color, need your opinion...
Comments (3)Your house is pretty! (I remember all the virtuals in Home Dec). It does look a bit more earthy than neighbors, but hard to tell with shadows. (I'm looking at neighbor's above far right archway, where it's in the shade.) Oh wait, I just saw the part below the pictures. Yes, do that second coat!! It will absolutely give a more refined, finished, 'richer' look. Two finish coats, always!...See MoreExterior Color, need your opinion.
Comments (9)The lighting is completely different. Your house pic now looks like the original GW Fleece pic of her house in the other thread! :) And hers now looks lemon yellow! and completely different than in the other thread ? Colors just can't be fine-tuned on the net because they're inaccurate. Since you're not liking the color it's coming out on your house, I wonder if you could put the last coat on in a slightly different tone/tint? Or like a wash to get more of the color you're after. Maybe ask the paint store if that's a bad idea on an exterior? or how you might adjust the shade of the color a bit more to your liking? How much sun does the front of your house get during the day? The other pics were shaded too....See MoreExterior color Dilemma. New Home. Need help w/ Exterior color!
Comments (2)I think a light grey would look very smart - white trim. Be sure to paint the garage door the same color as the house to help it disappear....See MoreReally need others opinion exterior colors-
Comments (7)isn't that brick already painted? perhaps trying a pressure washing to brighten it up a bit? I'd also bring in a vertical plant of some sort to the right of your front window. maybe a bougainvillea. if you chose an orange to go w/the turquoise, i'd also bring in the planters in that color re/orange, red, coral, all go well w/your color door and the wood. so what is the actual question? what are you looking to paint the trim around the roofline? the garage door? charcoal, black medium gray..... grays go well w/all of those colors. Actually, if you did this to your brick and did the black trim, would look great! don't forget the garage door even w/yours now, something like this, or a wood one would look a bit better. if you can't swing that, then paint yours. bring some of the dark gray pebbles for your cement walkway. maybe some 'snake plant or horsetail plant" love how they painted the cement porch in the dark charcoal gray. brought in a Sago Palm. (might be a nice addition in your yard if you live in a warmer area) Look at the dark charcoal siding color on this house, this is the color for your trim, garage door and maybe your siding. (c below for further) these fluffy grasses, some trees. as for the siding we can't see, I'd keep it the same tone as the brick and continue w/the dark trim. Or, paint the siding that dark trim color (like Urbane Bronze) and do the trim in the same white as the brick....See Moreemmarene9
