Would you ever put a large sofa mirror in a hall?
Comments (7)I had a mirror in the dining room and then we remodeled and it couldn't go there any more. Not wanting to get rid of it I looked around the house for another place to put it. The only free spot for a mirror that large was the hallway. So I turned it vertically and placed it across the door to the guest room. That way when guests want to check out how they look they can open the door and stand as far back into the room as they want to see a head to shot image of themselves. And it also reflects light from the window in that bedroom into the hallway. Since this is a very dark hallway the mirror helps to reflect light from inside the bedroom into the hallway. In other words, I tried to place it where it would at least serve a purpose again. I like mirrors in hallways, it helps to break up long rows of photograph collages, art work, doors, etc. Funny thing is, I never would have bought a mirror that large for this narrow of a hallway but I actually like it there....See Morewhat kind of entry light would you put here?
Comments (2)The arch and stucco type seems to speak to a mediterranean or spanish style home. My theory is to not fight with the bones of a house. I would go with a smaller scale spanish-style fixture that fits closer to the ceiling as you do not have much height to play with. I would keep them consistent (not necessarily the same) but if you go with a darker bronze finish keep it consistent. Keep in mind the scale of the room when choosing the fixture. A really small room need a light fixture that is to the scale of the room....See MoreWhat kind of artwork should I put above my dressers.
Comments (5)Thanks Patricia. I was considering that possibility as well. Each dresser measures 32" wide. The ceilings are vaulted. What size do you think would work? Maybe 24 wide by 36 tall? I will definitely be posting more pics for advice. I'm in the middle of disassembling my bed to put my new one in and I have curtains coming today that I need to hang. I'll be looking for advice on the whole space to help finish it up. They may not look it, but they're a bit too tall for night tables. I have a pair of Tommy Bahama nightstands that my husband bought and is really attached to, so I need to keep those anyway. I do plan on refinishing those as well as adding new hardware....See Moresconce height around mirror above console - pics included
Comments (20)@JustMe uggggg stop sending so many good ideas lol. So, I actually wired and have power waiting if I ever did want to add a light, but I love how open and clean the line of sight is from where I am (front door-ish) across the house so I never installed a chandelier. With regards to moving table 90, and relocating the console, I guess it could work, I haven't tested out that setup.....Ill have to run it by the wife, empty the mother effer (its heavy) and decide if I have the energy to move it just to get a visual lol. As far as couch off the wall, I don't mind that too. I was going to add a chair anyway with a coffee table, cant I do that as it is? Is adding a couch console too many? Need a mirror, is having artwork or mirrors on all walls a bad idea? Just when I though I was adding sconces and done..........See MoreRelated Professionals
