Solid white quartz to match BM Atrium White?

We are doing a complete kitchen renovation and looking for a solid white quartz for countertops. Our cabinets will be Benjamin Moore atrium white pm-13, which I would describe as a warm creamy white. We’re seeking a solid white quartz that matches that white and isn’t too bright or cold. I have a small sample of LG Viatera porcelain white that I fear might be a little too bright of a white to match the cabinets. Viatera’s cotton white is one I hoped might be a better match, but our fabricator just told me it’s been discontinued. Any suggestions of a solid white quartz brand and color that reads creamy and warm as opposed to bright and cold?

Patricia is right. I doubt you'll find a perfect match. It's easier to find a stone first then matching paint, the other way around is a lot harder due to the limited stone choices. I suggest you bring a door sample to a local stone yard and see what works.

Good luck is all I can say If this was the couter you picked at the beginning then you should have had the cabinets done to match nowyou are in a mess .

Thanks @J Inhof and @Pam A. Good question about the tones of the Pure white - I don't have a sample of the Pure White (oops!) but I did look at it with my cabinets in the IKEA store (which obviously has very different lighting). The Pure white, was very very close to the cabinet color. The Frosty Carrina overall read a slightly cream - I do have a sample of Frosty Carrina, and in my kitchen it also reads slightly cream (and the website describes it as ivory). Whoa, that’s horrible @Chritstine Hollern. I so sad and sorry to hear this. I wonder if there’s a company that can repair the chips. I had read negative comments on here about MSI, so that’s why I went with Hanstone. Also, our contractor has Montauk in his office/show room. So that’s what I went with but there was a lot of beautiful MSI colors and so many options. Maybe go back to the place you got the countertop from with pics? I think there’s a warranty with MSI.

Okay! One thing I've heard is that because the enamel used for the cabinets differs slightly from the paint in the paint store, it may not be an exact match to a paint sample or paint chip from Benjamin Moore. Do you have a sample of the painted cabinet to use when choosing your countertop? In general, I don't think there will be anything wrong with Dove White and those countertops though!

Oh my. We’re not in a mess quite yet. :) I like the atrium white, but we can still change cabinet color if we want, especially if finding a quartz to match proves too difficult. Remodel doesn’t begin until late October. I definitely want a warm creamy white for both quartz and cabinets, as opposed to cold and bright.

Thanks, Sina and Patricia! My follow up question is whether there are folks out there who have picked creamy white solid quartz that they’ve liked, along the lines of the white-but-still-warm-and-creaminess of atrium white (and what paint they picked to match that quartz for cabinets). I agree with the thinking that picking the quartz first makes sense, and play with paint color from there since that’s much easier to change.

Not sure if you’re going with new cabinets or painting your existing, but I would get a sample of the paint you like, paint out a large swatch and then go visiting various counter shops. You have the time and really it’s so much better than people on the internet trying to color and hue match for you. Once you find some samples you like, bring them home and evaluate them in the light of your house

a similar dilemma was posted recently. I think it turned out really lovely, but that poster was trying to go with an all white kitchen too but chose the creamy paint color first and that forced all the other choices

That was a great thread to read. Thanks for sharing it. I totally agree with your thinking, damiarain. I’ve taken my paint sample to the local quartz shop and have found one good possibility (LG Viatera Porcelain white) and am waiting to receive a larger sample from them to consider it further... I think it is a smidge brighter than our paint sample for cabinets, so I need to consider whether that will be an issue. The fact that it is on a horizontal plane and that it has a higher sheen than the cabinet paint makes exact-matching tricky, and I’m not sure that exact-matching is even what we should be striving for...

Finding a subtly creamy solid white quartz (not ivory but not bright white either) has proven a little more difficult than I anticipated! The picture below is the look we’re going for - white cabinets and countertops with soft taupe (matte) backsplash.

mcgoverntheory, why avoid all-white countertop? Just for the practical reasons of showing dirt?

The cabinets in your photo, appear to not be white, but, a very light tint of grayish. The counter looks white. They are not a match at all, on my monitor.

It’s definitely true that the cabinets and countertop in that pic are a little different. Our cabinets will be creamy white, not ivory or gray. The inspiration picture isn’t exact - just gives general sense of solid white countertop, taupe backsplash, and then imagine that the cabinets are whiter than what they appear on your monitor. :)

Main reason for my post is that I’ve yet to find a one-stop-shop for quartz, in terms of many brands and samples in one place. (I’m in Central Indiana if anyone has a suggestion! I’ve checked out solid white options at a couple of places and have really only found one solid white option (the above-mentioned porcelain white) that is creamy/warm rather than bright/cold. If anyone had experienced the same quest as me and had a brand/color to suggest that would help me focus my quartz shopping destinations, that would be awesome!
