I hope you meet with success. I was having problems growing it and was really frustrated at the fact that they grew wild on the roadside but would not take in the gardens. After comparing the roadside to the areas I was trying to get them to grow, I started placing them in areas which I considered hot, dry, full sun, crappy soil. Worked like a charm. I now have some pastel pinks and yellows (birds seeded those), Cerise Queen, and a short variety which is stunning - pastel yellow with silver foliage. The short one is planted at the edge of a rock wall where even Calendulas pout. It's a keeper!

Have you taken the Amen tests for ADHD? or adult ADD? I did when I was 60; finally at 62 I decided to take the little pill daily - give it a try. Well, I am more able to concentrate, more able to make a mental list and DO those things, even the things I dislike. I can stick with things, too. Of course, you may not have any of this at all. (I hope that's the case!) It may be that for you, life is a Smorgasbord and you are interested and curious, and have passions for many things. Once you get as good as you can, boredom sets in, and you are ready to tackle another challenge. What's wrong with that? Who Ever Said you have to stick with something forever? What's wrong with quitting when you are ready? You are not hurting anyone. Not even yourself. Keep being curious. I delve into hobbies full bore; then the fun is gone, the challenge has evaporated. What would one have me do? Keep going until I am suicidal? LOL! Hang in there; maybe a rethinking of what a wonderful mind you have is in order. Appreciate your intelligence!

It's the widgets run amuck!

Back in the days when I received print magazines, I would page through looking for any page that was a full page ad on both sides, and then rip the page out and discard it, along with any of the annoying business reply cards. Usually the other half of the page (on the other side of the staple) was also nothing but ads. Then I would go back and start to read the magazine. I guess it was an early version of "Ad Blocker" I did find some magazine from the 70's at an uncle's house this summer, and the ads were the most interesting part. I especially remember a full-page, wall-of-text ad for the (then) recently discovered ruby red grapefruit.
