Made a big mistake with 5-1-1 and need some help/advice!
Comments (6)Well, I posted a very long blog post about my mistakes making the 5-1-1 mix and how it all turned out. In the end, after sifting out all the big chunks, I actually ended up with something that looks a lot like Miracle Grow, so it should at least work well enough with some TLC! Comments (1)I've found this rating on line in several places, but they all say the same thing. In the past I've found more details, but haven't run across that yet. You'll have to decide what's right for your situation, but I think I'd want a 4 in my kitchen and entrance. However, I'm no expert. Also, there is a test for water absorption. Take a look at this link, also. http://www.findanyfloor.com/article/TileRatings.xhtml Here is a link that might be useful: PEI rating...See MoreHelp - Have I made a hugely expensive mistake?!
Comments (27)If your cabinets put off a yellow tone, you need to get rid of that blue first thing. Your blue is much too bright for a yellow toned cream cabinet and together, they'll look awful. I'd go with either the gorgeous blue suggested above (in the bathroom example) which has a green undertone to it, or go with a soft green, but stay away from pastel or violet blues. They clash something awful with yellow tone cream. I'm afraid you did make a mistake, and it's rather a big one (I hate painting trim...mind you, I'd do it in a heart beat in your situation, but I still hate it LOL). White and cream need to be carefully mixed if they're going to work out. The white needs to not have blue undertones (crisp white) but instead needs to lean towards the yellow or pink. Yours looks to be in the crisp blue tones of white, (think snow or iceberg). Ya just can't mix that well with yellow toned ivory or cream. It again clashes just as bad as your blue paint. It needs to be painted again, and in a color matched, but perhaps a shade or two lighter, than the cabinets, if you want a nice flow. Your mistakes aren't hugely expensive, but they are hugely visable if you leave them as is. Even going to a soft green or changing the blue won't fix it. Either the cabs need paint (I wouldn't paint a new factory finish myself) or the trim, and definately the walls!...See MoreHELP PLEASE!!!! I think I made a mistake
Comments (15)Happy New Year! I hope everyone enjoyed the holidays. I did...LOL So here's the update. Far now, I'm not going to paint the trim/door, or game room entrance until I finished painting. I like the idea of painting the trim and wall the same color. Thoughts? The ceilings are currently being painted Sherwin Williams Highly Reflective white. Any suggestions on a neutral paint color? (something to flow with this granite color below). I'm going to paint the main living area of the house including the kitchen the same color. I took this at night close up of granite The white is the granite...See Moreemmarene9
