PKponder - Joe Pye Weed update?

I didn't want to resurrect this 10-year old thread, Pam, but am wondering how your white Joe Pye Weed plant did (is doing?). I started researching JPW for my ever growing butterfly garden (SW Houston, zone 9b), but have read eupatorium generally doesn't do well in the TX heat. Someone referenced TX native E. wrightii(shrubby with white flowers), and I wonder if that's what you have. Does/Did it indeed end up serving as a good nectar source for butterflies?
