HAVE: Hairy Balls (Gomphocarpus physocarpus)
Comments (46)Ripe seeds are brown. I doubt that the green ones will be viable. My plants are still blooming and we've had a couple light frosts and consistantly cool nighttime temps. I've already picked several pods but am leaving the rest on the plant and will pick them as necessary. One pod did split but I think that had something to do with a hungry critter. The remainder of the pods, ripe ones included are still intact. If the seeds are ripe you can see a dark area inside the pod if the sun's really bright. Karyn PS: If you are unable to collect any ripe seeds I have plenty....See MoreShow your hairy Tillandsia's!

Comments (3)We do get Commas in Oklahoma, but they don't appear in great numbers like the Question Marks. I believe they will use the same host plants like elm, hops, and False Nettle. I've been trying to find Tawny eggs on my elm saplings. Unlike the Hackberry Emperors, they lay their eggs in clusters and feed together. I've had several Tawnies show up this year, which is rare for them. I saw 2 last year for the 1st time. I think they are very pretty, and look similar to Variegated Frits (but VFs have longer wings, as in the longwing group, of which they are a member). Don't know if anyone has raised Commas here. Susan...See MoreHairy ball and claw foot table
Comments (19)I agree with Stocky. It's a Victorian or Victorian style oak table with turned legs and very nice claw and ball feet BTW. It's probably worth $200-$300. I'd clean it up with a dry microfiber cloth to see whether it's got polyurethane or not. If it does, nothing you do to the surface will matter since it's sealed. If not, you could nourish it sparingly with Howards Feed N Wax, which is an oil type wax I use successfully at home. It doesn't strip or leave residue at all. From the underside it's obviously been worked on a bit. I see drips there in the first photo of the underside. Difficult to tell what that might be from a photo. 29-1/2 is standard table height....See Moredandy_line (Z3b N Cent Mn)
