To set up your email, just go to the bottom on any page here, and click on Member Pages Then click on Edit your Personal Information, Page, and Preferences You will then probably be asked to login in again. Then check the box Allow other users to send you email via forms at our site. That will place a link on your member page. While there editing, you may want to fill in your state abbreviation. It goes in the one box provided for both the state 'and' garden zone. You also follow the 'Member Pages' link to fill out your 'Have' and 'Wish' lists for seeds and/or plants. Embothrium, wow good call! I've checked out Claridge Druce on line. It appears to be an exact match for my garden geranium. The one already planted. Here is another picture of that geranium taken today. What is a bit confusing to me, is I'm certain that the name of the cultivar wasn't two words. It was one word that was a simple woman's name. However what I have growing is certainly Claridge Druce. So the person who named my plant must have been in error. That's the only conclusion I can come to. My new geranium does look identical as well. Campanula, I have geraniums growing with roses too. They make a wonderful plant for the not quite sun, light conditions of my garden. The above picture shows this dappled light which is typical of my garden. Here Claridge Druce is mixed with hydrangeas for the shrub, with white Bleeding Heart and primroses accompanying.

or it might have just been large plants .. extra large ... offered for spring sale.. so they had a leg up for the rest of the season ... not uncommon up north.. with the shorter growing seasons ... ken

I have grown lobelia erinus from seed. They are easy to grow though seedlings are tiny. I had a very hard time growing Verbena (garden variety hybrids not the perennial species). They were hard to germinate and keep alive. I have grown dozens of annuals and perennials from seed and it was the hardest, harder than delphiniums (which I found to be very hard too).
