Some Pictures taken this evening
Comments (9)We inherited the weird privet hedge that breaks the property into four sort of "rooms" in the back, and my husband curses all the hedge trimming, but it does make for sheltered "nooks" for some of the beds feel private. This bed is my biggest, about 30 feet running end to end and varying from 10 to 20 ft deep at different spots. The pathways running through it were a Mothers day present a few years ago and make all the difference in keeping up with weeds and ease of planting out. Of course, no one sees it as it is in the "back back" (the pool area being the "front back" - - -I end up draggin folks back there!...See MorePics, even some brugs!
Comments (15)The pics before the cat (yes Lucy it's a moth caterpillar, forgot which one) is a variegated ice plant from Lucy and the others are a Congo Cockatoo impatiens and the duranta Geisha Girl. If you want to try a cutting I'll send you some when I cut them back. They are pretty easy to root as long as they aren't soft green stems. Shawn (and Lucy) I can send you as many seed as you want of the white MG's w/star centers. I might also have some double blue picotees left. My picotees never consistantly send out doubles and sometimes the doubles are deformed. Like a double brug whose inner skirt doesn't drop. Edna I can't remember what the last plant is but it's a perennial bush type plant. I think the single variety is more common. I was hoping someone here would know the name. Siam we grow mainly flowers, flowering trees and herbs for cutting outside and we finish off plug trays and start stuff from seed in the greenhouses. The majority is sold directly to the wholsale flower business (my DH). It's just easier that way and we don't have to look for buyers. I'll go take a few more pics at the farm. Those are of the area behind the greenhouses. Everything but the hydrangeas are planted on the other side. Most of the front area is tilled except where the peonies and lilacs are. I think the hydrangeas are on 6 or 8 acres. The tilled area is about 4 acres. Then there's a few acres of woods which we don't do anything with. Here's some older pics of the GH's. I thought I had more of the fields but can't find them. src="http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a207/kskbhk/th_101_0215.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket" >...See MoreSome from Friday evening
Comments (5)Thank you everyone! Beverly is a great rose, I love it! One thing that's been an irritation is, with all the rain we've had, it has made my blooms not look their best, especially the lighter colored ones. I've got gobs of buds on Souvenir de la Malmaison and so far everyone that has opened has not been attractive! Normal rainfall wouldn't do that, but fifteen inches in a month will! I know it will get better, and for the most part my roses are doing good so far, I'm thankful for that....See MoreSome evening pics
Comments (10)I feel your pain re posting pics It takes determination that is for sure. It takes forever to upload, only two pictures in your post but if you comment on your own post you can add several at a time. Hoping that this is one of the glitches that gets better. On a positive note your hostas are lovely! The colours work very well together. How deep is your garden bed?...See Morejimr66
