Comments (17)I clicked on monnshadow's link-- wow!!! that's gonna be a big and beautiful house! Pammyfay, I know that the father is well-liked and respected by students and families in schools where he teaches music. And the family is very active in their church. They even drive over an hour to go to their church everyweek. They are nice Christian family, friendly, too. I don't know what criteria they (show) use and chose our friends. I'm thrilled for them! Their house is really tiny for 7 people, and oldest one (girl) is going to be a teen-ager soon, so she needs some privacy. I was reading the comments on the (online newspaper)articles, and there seem to be a theme- envy/jealousy:( A lot were criticizing why they have so many kids when they know they cannot give them the living space that they need. Some are concern about the property tax, some are just plain upset that they know more deserving families than the winner. Ahhhhh, why didn't they join the contest? Or entered the family they think deserves to win? Like I said, I don't know the criteria they use....See Morehelp I'm looking for cabinet door make over idea's
Comments (4)Artsy - I have a great idea for you that I did on this investment property we redid and didn't want to spend a whole lot of $...Home Depot has a display of this company out of Texas called Quality Door,,there is brochure,,video etc. Anyway, they will make doors to your specifications. They have all kinds of woods and door styles etc. You know in advance from the brochure how much door will cost and they also drill the holes for the European hinges that you can also buy from them..They sell the 'skins' that match the doors if you want to have that glued to the fronts of the cabinet boxes. I was very happy with them and was so glad we did it. I used a white thermofoil and they were the best doors I ever had when it came to ease of cleaning etc. 2nd option: I've seen on TV where they have cut out the middle section of the door or created an area they wanted to be the "frame" so to speak, and with the blank space they either created a curtain that they attached and gathered on the inside or they used some chicken wire or glass. Hope that helps somewhat or at least gives you some options....See MoreHELP!! Front of dated 50's House needs make over
Comments (34)I like dig dugs take a lot too. @greenfish, im not sure everyone (passersby) would really have that much notice of the "fake stone" as you do. I think i could look nice blended with the right stain color on the brick. @dig dug im not a fan of the lamp post other than that I love it....See MoreBathroom needs make-over!
Comments (3)I would not do 30 x 60 tile in a 1910 house. I would stick to a smaller sized tile for the floors. That's called remuddling. Plus it's way too large for the room. Pick something that would work well with the style of the house and contemporize the house using things that could be changed....See MorePatricia Colwell Consulting
