Most low maintenance fruit in US Southeast?

Good morning. My gardening interests are wide, but I focus on low maintenance where I can. I have hillside landscaped in native meadow plants and grasses. I have a dozen or more roses, but they tend toward the heirloom or modern landscape kind that I don't really have to do anything for besides a little fertilization in the spring. I grow thornless blackberries (about nine varieties) because they are invincible and productive. I'm getting into figs in a big way, because they are so reliable in this climate and because you cannot buy fruit of this quality anywhere else. I'm also starting a few varieties of sour cherries, where I'm hoping that the biggest threat is the birds (and not disease or insects).

What else is on the low maintenance side here in central NC?
