Comments (3)Probably wouldn't choose the nightstand in the second pic to go with the headboard in the first pic myself but if the headboard is gray, gray wood would work. Were I buying new nightstand, I'd want to at least consider a pair of wood two drawer filing cabinets that lock instead -- or those with two filing drawers and one shallow drawer. https://www.google.com/search?q=wood+two+drawer+filing+cabinets&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwjE3vC9qJXbAhXIxVkKHXntBVEQ_AUICygC&biw=1366&bih=650...See MoreHelp me grow-up my small bedroom?
Comments (15)Some random thoughts: I was thinking of a gallery wall for your tv... something along these lines, but perhaps with dark purple / eggplant wall paint color: If a gallery wall is not appealing to you, perhaps introduce pattern and color in window shade - like this, but with "your" colors: Add some organic shape in bedside table - especially on the more visible left side of room: Re: lighting -- Because your bedside tables will be small, you may want to look into pin-up lamps for your bed wall. If you replace your media stand with something longer, but more narrow, you will have room for a table lamp or two. And you could probably squeeze in a narrow floor lamp in a corner as well. Comments (44)The wood is dark. If you paint the wall a dark color, the contrast will be lost. Create a lighter headboard ofmy choose a darker wall color. The matching bedroom set is overwhelming in its details. Alter the look of the headboard with a DIY project. First, change the shape of the headboard by wrapping it in 1 inch foam (front and back). You could use packing tape to hold the foam together and spare the headboard from damage, or use spray adhesive to the wood itself. The folded foam will give you a rectangular shape. Next, wrap the foam with cotton batting to prevent any color show-through. Sew a big pillowcase-like cover for your head board. You could choose fabric in a store, or perhaps use a pair of faux-silk drapes at HomeGoods. You don't need a sewing machine to do this, just a needle and thread, (tape measure, chalk or light pencil line on the "wrong side of the fabric" , and pins to hold the two sides together. In this link, the person made a new headboard, but the idea is the same. https://angelarosehome.com/diy-upholstered-wingback-headboard-for-80/...See MorePlease help me furnish my master bedroom!
Comments (13)@shirlpp Forget the centering question. Thoughts on a headboard going right up against the window? Would that look strange? @Lisa Caudill Same question about the headboard you like going right up against the window? And what are your thoughts on the bed you liked if I don't get the extra left/right panels? That would make the headboard the same width as the mattress, would it still be your pick for this room or would you go with a different bed? I have decided against having the bed off-center because of the fireplace wall and especially the TV on that wall. I think it would look weird plus it makes no sense to have a TV that is meant for watching in bed but is totally to the left of the bed. So the only options I'm considering are a bed with a traditional sized headboard or an extra wide headboard that goes right up to the window. Both would be centered on the room and on the fireplace wall. This is the fireplace wall with the accent light on, in case that increases the appeal of either of the beds with the LED accent lighting...See MoreJAN MOYER
