2LittleFishies Yellow Kitchen Reveal !!! LONG!
Comments (161)Many of the longer Gardenweb kitchen reveal threads lost text and photo content when they were imported into Houzz. The good news is, Tamara says the data is not lost, but the threads will have to be repaired manually. No time frame yet, as they’re still working on other issues. We’re keeping up with the lost content issue in this thread: Kitchen Reveal Threads Missing Photos and Text Currently, you can still see 2LittleFishie’s intact threads by finding the cached version in Google. I have some info about how to do this in the above thread, about 20 posts down. (Feel free to message me if I can help.)...See Morekitchen reveal - completed staged kitchen - photo heavy
Comments (102)Sorry! It didn't send me any notice that the kitchen had been commented on so I didn't see the questions until I went to show someone the pics of my kitchen! Hopefully these answers aren't too late to help. Carynia, after much agita, I went with Antique white by polyblend (at home depot). I have it listed in the below posting. I see there that I made the comment that I could've went darker on the grout, however, I barely even remember that sentiment, so the color is just fine. http://ths.gardenweb.com/discussions/2439662/kitchen-reveal-almost-completed-not-staged-kitchen-need-tile-help AvatarWalt, I would totally put in that linoleum! There are so many benefits to linoleum that I'm sure you already know. If the wood floor had been in terrible shape, that would've been my first choice, especially since it would be appropriate for the age of the house. bobcatralph, that magazine was "IT". After looking for over a year for inspiration I had at least a hundred magazines and books (that I just gave away). So many were beautiful, but I just kept coming back to that magazine. I could choose between any Sherwin Williams paint color that I wanted for the cabinets, and in the end I tried to get the one that would be closest to that magazine (taking into consideration the lighting in my kitchen). I'm pretty sure I'll always keep that magazine (and a few others that gave me great ideas). Ps... another favorite color that I almost went with was Aleutian.... once I decided against white, it was very hard to choose between the two, but I'm sure I couldn't be happier than I am with the color I chose. Thank you everyone for your kind words!...See MoreKitchen Reveal Before and After
Comments (33)Thank you everyone, we are thrilled and very happy with the outcome, appliances, and design. The kitchen is very functional. And its amazing how it transformed our kitchen into usable space. Losing the load bearing wall was key and also adding the dining and mudroom. Everything flows so much better. We had a designer work with us. I'll answer some of your questions. We have another fridge in the garage. I am glad we spent a bit extra and got the Subzero. We were able to get floor model with a full 10 year warranty. We never have to worry about room and we like how it is counter depth. The doors are very heavy especially with the wooden panels so that's one consideration. Noise- the subzero is very quiet and food does last longer. to the left of the appliance lift are three shelves, one for silverware, dishes with peg board and another deep drawer below. For those of you interested in windows/ doors, they are all Anderson 400 series and the door is a Thermatru pre finished at a local distributor. We purchased Emtek hardware for the doors. I will have to get you measurements of upper. Little shelf to the left of dishwasher is a rev a shelf tray divider....See MoreKitchen Reveal!
Comments (35)@David Long We have 8' ceilings; our uppers are 42" tall (including crown) and 30" wide. In terms of tips... are you doing inset cabs? If so you might ask about "ganging" some of the cabs together. I didn't think about how each cab carcass would butt up against another cab carcass, creating a double-wide gap between drawers/doors. If doing inset, also keep in mind how much interior storage you will lose: e.g. the narrow pantry to the right of the refrigerator is nominally 12" wide, but the interior clear storage width is only 7". Re Sub Zero, I ordered appliances in early 2022, months before construction started, because of the known supply chain problems. There's a thread on here about Sub Zero wait times; not sure what they are today but we waited 15 months to receive ours. Even then, it was missing one of the door components (dairy shelf) and we will be waiting until "early fall" to get it. Only other thing I'd highlight about the Sub Zero is to be sure you understand what the final look will be - earlier in this thread I noted the 1" gap of the Classic model which is not what I expected. IIRC I think Sub Zero distinguishes between "built in" and "integrated."...See MoreAMS
