Home Office Update
Comments (1)I really have to agree with her. To me your room looks heavy with wood tones and that can limit paint colors, especially when your trim and doors are stained wood. I would absolutely go for white doors. Much more sleek at can help make a space more current, cleaner and updated. Honestly think the space would look better if all the wood was white, except the floors of course....See MoreHome Office help needed
Comments (25)Flo I appreciate the time your spending with me. Okay so to answer some of your questions Yes, looking into the room from French doors the registers are on the left wall and the windows are on opposite side. I also realized I’m even more limited in space due to the French doors swinging inside the room by about 15”. I really do only have 2 solid walls at 123” long to work with. We just got rid of our 1990’s L shaped office set up which was set up in that ideal L shaped corner but would love to switch it up and be able to look out my windows when working. Speaking of working, I do work from home with my business and my husbands side business is also run from our home office as well so it gets lots of use. I need space for typical daily office supplies so looking to have adequate storage. Now the calendar wall idea was to replace those plastic calendars with a 50”w x 36h” piece of acrylic to use as a dry erase calendar with some standoffs. I would have space underneath that on the floor for a lateral file cabinet. I did think the desk was a bit too big but trying to convince hubby to change it. He’s a work in progress right now :-)...See MoreNeed help with decorating home office
Comments (17)Ideally, I would have attached a work surface to form an "L" from the wall unit. However, your wall unit has two kneehole spaces which are designed as work stations. Why are those not being used and forgo a formal desk? I would move the printer or get a small one. They are so inexpensive these days to get a smaller unit for a home office. https://www.2modern.com/products/sequel-20-return?variant=34668476465197...See MoreNeed help updating 80's home and all it's honey oak everything
Comments (30)I agree with the first above houzzers.....paint it a warm white and leave it for a year living in it to decide where you want to begin, then begin with one room only and do that room completely.....people get so caught up in saving money, that they invariably end up spending a little bit in each room because they cannot afford to do one room right......I speak from experience! Painting the whole house will cost a lot of time money and headaches especially if you have never painted.....just sayin'.....So paint it a nice white and live in it and then decide where to begin first.... As you have always rented, you can be patient, and keep a list going of what you want to do in each room and then will be able to pare down the list to the most important.....personally I think you will get the most bang for you buck, and great satisfaction by tackling the kitchen after your year of living in the house; that way you get to enjoy all the money you spend before you decide to sell it......good luck, your happiness and joy at what you have accomplished in buying a home, is refreshing and charming and admirable.....See Moredecoenthusiaste
