bathroom chandelier size style dilemma
Comments (1)Although you see scofflaws violate this a lot, lighting over a tub must be wet area rated and be 96” above the rim, minimum. That rule is in effect to keep you from slipping and grabbing that light, and then electrocuting yourself. If you want a pendant there, make it one that uses candles, not electricity....See MoreSmall bathroom with shower needs chandelier but what type is best ?
Comments (10)See how the third picture that Beverly shows has the ceiling pot lights, in addition to the chandelier? All that supplemental lighting may be masking the shadows/bright spots that chandeliers sometimes cause. Be careful choosing the center light if you do not have supplemental lighting at the vanity so that you have even, not splotchy, lighting. If you do have lights at the vanity, it is much less of an issue, but if the bathroom is truly small, it may not have more lights. That is my only concern with crystal and cut glass light fixtures....See MoreBathroom Remodel Layout Dilemma
Comments (2)First get a nice acrylic tub and tile the walls and have a shower for that back wall use a nice hinged glass shower screen instaed of a shower curtain to make the space feel larger . 60" is not big enough for 2 sink vanity . I just saw that tub honestly do you want to try to relax sitting up in a tub and all squished my legs are almost 39" long no way . Get that tub/ shower in a 32" width, nice deep saoker 19" deep or more so much better use of the space the tub can be 66: long for sure . No toilet room they are silly and waste space . No one should be using the toilet while someone else is in the bathroom . IMO if at all possible do a european style toilet room with a sink for hubby where it has entry from the hallway. It also will be great when you add another body to the mix. That strorage cabinet will be awesome and useable if no toilet room ....See MoreWhat makes the most sense for recessed lights in bathroom?
Comments (6)I have a significantly smaller bathroom than you do and I have several different kinds of lights because they serve different functions. I have five canned lights - one in the shower. Two of these are on motion detector and go on automatically when someone enters the room. They also turn off after no motion is sensed for a few minutes. These are the lights which illuminate the room very brightly. Bathroom lights on motion detector are required by Code in California and after the first week I really appreciated them. They are part of the energy saving green measures that Califoria has in its building Codes. They truly solve the issue of people forgetting to turn off lights. I also have a vanity portion which I use for grooming. These has lights in the mirror and I also have a lighted makeup magnifying mirror for close work. I also have decorative sconces but these are more for style than for function...See MoreUser
