Nini804, thanks for the vote and the compliment. I love that crazy headboard. The little bird is actually removable, but I’ve never been able to force myself to take him off.

I like #2 and then #3. I know this isn’t life altering, but that could be said of most of the questions we have on this forum! But, it’s great to get opinions from people That’s the whole purpose of this forum (at least I thought that’s what it’s all about)

I would not put any art on that wall -- have your headboard be the centerpiece but get taller lamps. Not every wall needs art. Also I wouldn't put anything on the headboard either.

I wouldn’t put anything on that wall, either, or on the headboard. I think the art detracts from the headboard, which should be allowed to shine on its own.

Instead of putting screws in the wall for the art, use Command picture hanging strips. They can hold a surprising amount of weight. I use them for everything I hang on our walls.

I love your headboard and have admired it in catalogs before. You’ve received all the great help you need for the wall but I would suggest laying the pillows down at a more level slant so more of the headboard shows.

If possible, I’d suggest having the headboard modified. Find a way to bump the headboard higher. Adding 12-18” height would be a game changer! Your pillows wouldn’t cover up so much of the wood and then it would feel more like an art piece on the wall. Also, the wall color and headboard could use more contrast. Possibly darken the wall (just that wall) to allow the wood color to stand out more?

Of all the options and suggestions, I think mirrors behind your lamps would be very nice. Hang the art elsewhere. I know you just painted, but maybe a more dramatic color on the headboard wall?

If you do the mirrors I think I would still do a colorful lamp to bring bring some interest there and carry that pretty coral from the bedding over the nightstands!

Just a note - the walls appear gray in the photos. They are actually Brook Green by Behr. The color matches the bed shams, which Pottery Barn calls “Spa”

Celery girl, thanks for the suggestion. The chandelier is actually the ceiling fan. This is a 2 story house, so we really need the fan to help move the AC around.

Brought home 2 mirrors today, but they will be going back (way too small). I found these 2 options online. Same size, but one is “brown” finish and the other is gold. They’re both the exact width of the nightstands. If I hang them about an inch above the top of the nightstands, they are pretty much level with the top of the bed. Thoughts?

Is this about the heights you 'll hit? Looks lovely,bounces light about the room, and allows the bed to hold center stage without dwarfing the nightstands.

They can be taller than the headboard in my opinion. Can you tape out the measurements for those mirrors you selected and take them about 4” above the nightstand.

As far as raising the bed, if I raised it more than 5”, the frame would be bolted to the added piece, rather than the headboard. I worry about stability as this is a very heavy headboard. Not sure if 5” would make enough of a difference?

I wouldn't fuss with trying to raise the headboard if it could compromise the bed's stability. Just lay the pillows flat as someone suggested upthread. The mirrors now...hmm. Not easy. I love the arched mirror but don't think it's a good idea to have similar curves and sweeps that "compete" with the headboard's. The rectangular mirror seems the better choice but have you considered round or oval? I wonder how something like this would look. Might not be high enough (19 in).

Scrolling up and looking at the inspo pics and mockups though, I really like lynartist's mockup with the coral lamps and rectangular mirrors.

I think a simple mirror may be in order. This one is 24x36. It has a bit of detail !

I like Lyn’s suggestion. At first I was thinking that the arched mirror would be cool but Tartan is right about too many like curves. Thanks for taping off. I like the size of the lamp with lavender shade.

Ok, so I’m down to 2 choices. I agree that the arched mirror is a no-go. I really like the grid look, so I’m going with that.

Those grid mirrors for Option 1 are very pretty. My only qualm is the detail in the grid might mirror (ha) the hardware on the nightstands too much. It really depends on YOU and how easily your eye picks up patterns, repetitions and the like. And if it's bothered by any of it. Did you mean to post a second option? Incidentally, I've been living with tape above my nightstand for a few weeks now. It's really the easiest way to gauge size and proportions.

ETA: Option 2 just popped up. Taller mirror is my vote. :)

Sorry, I don’t get the purple lamp. I think these mirrors are too distracting and take the focus off the beautiful bed!

Thanks for the mock-up lynartist, that’s so helpful! I actually like that the detail is similar to the nightstand hardware. It satisfies my OCD tendencies :). I like the grid because it makes the mirror less of a functional mirror and more decorative. I have a functional mirror above the chest on the adjacent wall. I like that these are different. The other mirror is also a pewter finish, so I think this will work well.

See, it's all about figuring out what YOU like. :) Mockups help so much! I didn't realize you had another mirror in the room. Have you thought of hanging the one over the dresser horizontally? I must admit that I would find those three mirrors a bit too many rectangles for the room. But again, that's my opinion seeing your pictures.

I just meant the size if that lamp. Not suggesting using that lamp.

I would forget the mirrors! You can add picture frame molding to the wall, paint the inside a contrasting color or add wallpaper and then do chunkier lamps!

Cool idea, lynartist! I’m sorry I didn’t mention the other mirror! Don’t know why it didn’t occur to me. I love the mirrors over the nightstands so much though, that I think I can sacrifice the one over the chest. I’ll just have to rethink that adjacent wall.

I want to thank you all for your wonderful suggestions, and honest (but kind) criticism. Every comment/suggestion was appreciated. I’ve cringed over some of the the mean, snarky comments that I’ve sometimes seen in other Houzz discussions (I’m sure you know the usual culprits), so I really appreciate the courtesy and the genuine willingness to help that I’ve experienced here. I feel like I can make a good decision now. You guys rock!

I would also step up your bedding for this lovely room. The wall color is perfect.

I think you should weigh what you like best. Mirrors over the night stands or mirror over the chest. You can put some art over the chest so you’re not in mirror overload.

I’m not a big fan of buying on line! What seems like a good idea in a photo usually ends up being sent back and is an aggravation! I still think a simple mirror is your best bet here! Try to find something comparable styles locally to try out first and see if it works for you. It’s easy to return something to a Homegoods or Pier One if it doesn’t work out. If you like the look then you may want to search on line for a better price!

BTW, I like your bedding. There’s a lovely sweetness to it that complements the headboard very nicely!

Here is a more stately mirror but I have no idea what your budget is??? I would definitely try this look locally first though!
