Tiny White Flowers
Comments (2)Thanks jaynine. I finally realized that the photos were taken too early in the day, and went back for more info. It appears that the petals were just unfolding this morning, and that gave them an overlapping appearance. I must have torn one, making it seem that there were 10, instead of 5. The photo below, plus non-scarious bracts, glandular hairs on sepals, 10 stamens with 5 styles, etc. suggest this plant is Cerastium brachypodum (Short-stalked Chickweed - see afternoon photo). Sorry for the midleading information earlier....See MoreTiny White Flowers in Umbels
Comments (5)Ptilimnium? Sorry missed your suggestion. However I've seen them with and without bracts, suggesting they're ephemeral perhaps? Comments (1)These appear to be Leucospora multifida (Narrowleaf Paleseed). I just pulled up Internet photos of all Figwort family plants in the Arkansas Wildflowers key, and got lucky....See More4 petal white flower small lawn weed ID driving me nuts
Comments (3)Thanks Rhizo, Phil all ready gave me an ID on it, but you're absolutely right on your ID, so since I forgot to take the pix off of my other plants page (it's on nectar plants) I credited you on the page with the ID too: http://butterflies.heuristron.net/plants/whiteball.html I've spent more time trying to get the site to display properly cross-platform than I have on content lately (grumble). There are several other plants I'm not sure of on my plant pages; care to have a go at those too? Thanks :) Here is a link that might be useful: http://butterflies.heuristron.net/plants/whiteball.html...See Morefloral_uk z.8/9 SW UK
