Paint color that looks good w/Honey Oak Trim
Comments (3)Most people suggest colors in the green family which is nice but I'm a big fan of sunflowers and decided to use a soft yellow instead. We put it in both our kitchen and breakfast area and like it alot! Not only does it give the kitchen and dining area a very warm and cozy feel and it also has a very pretty glow when the sun is shining in! Not to mention it matches our honey oak cabinets perfectly!...See MoreWhich wall color with honey oak floors and trim?
Comments (0)We recently bought a home with beautiful golden, honey oak floors. There is also honey oak trim (and doors) and big golden-y oak beams. We plan to eventually paint the trim white and replace the doors (later down the road), but will keep the honey oak floors and beams. My question is--which wall color do you think would go best with this warm oak color? Benjamin Moore's Edgecomb Gray, or Benjamin Moore's Balboa Mist? Those are my top two right now. Any other suggestions would be welcome! Added: I realize in the photos I attached, the two paint colors look pretty much the same, but I swear they're different! But if you know anything about either of these colors, I'd love input! First is Balboa Mist and second is Edgecomb Gray....See MorePaint choice with honey oak cabinets and trim
Comments (3)Here's a picture of it next to what appears to be honey oak floors and it looks nice: Edgecomb Gray (Kylie M Interiors) Definitely try a sample of it in your space and look at it on different walls at different times of day to see if you like it in your lighting with all the other elements in your space. In my lighting the paint chip tends to skew a little purple, but I haven't heard anyone else mention that. I prefer Alaskan Skies (BM-972), which is very similar to Edgecomb Gray but doesn't skew purplish to me. The guy at our paint store tried to tell me Edgecomb Gray was the same color as Alaskan Skies, just a different name (they no longer carry the Alaskan Skies paint chip in our local store), but I can definitely detect a difference....See MorePainting honey oak trim
Comments (6)My main part of the project was removing the paneling. It dated the house and made the room darker and smaller feeling. The wood is in good shape, yes, but I think it’s the color that is also dating it. Thanks for your advice. Maybe I’ll start with cabinet and ledge, and then go from there on each remaining piece. I’m not good at deciding on things before they are done....See MoreAllison0704
