Help with the end of kitchen backsplash! To the floor?
Comments (19)Barncatz, I saved that photo before we joined Houzz, maybe two years ago, and it's on my computer. It's probably on page 58 of your search. There's something about the molding that makes the tile look like it belongs there. I think it could work with molding the width of the door frame or a little narrower. Do you have crown molding in the kitchen and adjacent room? Now that I think of it, I posted this once and someone nailed a piece of molding up to get a feel of how it'd look in their home. Try it! You could even tape some tile to the wall....See MoreWhere to end/use backsplash on long kitchen wall
Comments (9)I really love the look when you go around the corner, only to the depth of the upper cabinet. It looks very polished, very nicely finished. The size/scale of the tile matters for this type of look. (If you're using a large format tile, I wouldn't recommend it.) You would then use a bullnose tile or a deco edge to end the tile....See MoreBacksplash tile around window frame and where to end it--help needed!
Comments (12)I'm one of the people that hates to see tile jut out beyond the edge of a wall cabinet. I end tile in line with the wall cabinet and not the countertop. It would depend upon the tile. Given the size of the space, I would say not to carry it up around the window unless it is a mosaic type tile....See MoreWhere to end backsplash with awkward kitchen window placement?
Comments (8)I am going to assume you knew this was going to happen all along! Why didn't you plan to move, remove or resize the window? I think at this point I would go beyond the window and counters by whatever amount will make it look intentional, and bring it down to the floor. You will need bull-nosed version of your tile or a matching pencil/liner tile to have a proper finished edge from ceiling to floor. Hard to say without seeing what is beyond the window....See MoreKC Krause
