I love chandelier above islands (have one myself) but my initial reaction is 2 is one too many here. I would mock it up. Cut out a 26" round disk from cardboard and hang from the ceiling with string. This may help determining the height too for the chandelier. I had my electrician hold my chandelier at different heights until I got one that I liked. Your island is the size of a smallish dining room table. Most people would not have two chandeliers above a table that small. I think 2 pendants would be OK because they don't take up that much horizontal space. Your 2 chandeliers take up almost all of your horizontal space.

Hi Rachel Lindy Brady, The standard for Pendant lighting is 30 inches in-between each pendant with a height of 18 inches from counter top. You want to make sure its a t least 6 to 7 inches from the edge of island as well. That is standard but depending on the size of the pendant it will also effect the spacing as well if you stager them.
