Floof: Food combos you would say 'yes' or 'no thank you' to
Comments (70)I'm seeing double comments 🤔 Everybody in my family loved pickled herring, but not me. I do like many kinds of fish, and regular herring too. I used to make my own ceviche with freshly caught fish when I was a kid - no precooking either. We mainly caught grunts from our dock. Never had pineapple on pizza, never want to. I eat a lot of cottage cheese, and like to cook with it too - but nothing sweet. I do like a number of sweet combinations with meats - sausages and maple syrup is classic, IMO, and I love cranberry sauce on roast turkey - just had plenty of that today 😀 Ketchup tastes pretty sweet to me as well, and I like it on hotdogs and hamburgers, mixed with yellow mustard. I like blue cheese very much all by itself, and do not want to dip anything into blue cheese dressing....See MoreFloof- What are you good at?
Comments (16)From my earliest memories I have had a natural aptitude and love for math. My dad used to take us to the news stand on Sundays and each kid could pick out a magazine or comic book and get some penny candy. I always picked out a workbook with word problems or logic puzzles. I liked that much more than reading a comic book. I am still really good at math, logic, deductive reasoning. . . I can take large, complex problems, see the way things connect, organize the chaos and create solutions where everything just falls into place. I am really good finding information, I love learning and I am a fearless in the face of change. Building new solutions is fun in it's purest form. (This makes people who are resistant to change really uncomfortable). I think most people with a math brain are naturally good at visual-spatial processing - Geometry and Trigonometry were my favorite math subjects. I could see the shapes and relationships in my head and know how they fit together. I can walk through a home and draw a fairly accurate floorplan - the room sizes and the way things fit together just makes sense to me. How I envy those of you who are great conversationalists. Not my strength. I can listen really well, pick up on all the details, but I need to process all the information and will be ready to answer 3 minutes after the topic has changed. In my work this is a strength - I write technical specifications for new processes or process enhancements based on business needs. I don't need to answer now - I need to absorb all the information and come up with the right answer. I just can't seem to switch it off when discussing a book or a movie with a group. What did everyone else think - what did they like and dislike, how does this relate to what I enjoyed, how does their perception differ from mine . . . All this input and nary the time to sort and organize it all. It is exhausting....See MoreFloof post: What songs make you turn OFF the radio?
Comments (127)Someone paranoidly thinks there is a vast conspiracy against him having his say by an imaginary "peanut gallery" flagging things they don't agree with. I've only seen abusive, targeting posts disappear (thank you flaggers) and have no knowledge of any group doing so (tho I suppose they could exist and I haven't been invited to join). People who don't post abusive things don't have their comments flagged it seems. Might be the way to go to avoid being flagged....See MoreFloof post: How often do you bathe your dog?
Comments (26)Omigosh, this is an issue in my family. It's not a disagreement; it's just that I don't bathe my dog as often as my daughter would like. And I agree with her! Bowie (as in David) is a 14.5-year-old beagle-Jack Russell mix. I adopted him 16 months ago. He has allergies and takes medicine for itch. He's not exactly sweet-smelling. When I had multiple dogs, mostly fairly large, I would bathe them outdoors in summer, and that was pretty much it. I've never been to a groomer. I could bathe Bowie outdoors on a sunny day, although it wouldn't be the easies thing for me because of scoliosis and sub-normal energy. The other problem is that he dislikes being outside. Unusual, I know. My daughter makes the 17-mile trip over the mountain to bathe him in my shower. When I was in the hospital last year she took care of Bowie at her house and bathed him often with a probiotic shampoo that she found improves his irritated skin. He always smells better afterward as well. I have a very small shower, and I can't handle bathing him in there myself. I appreciate that she does this, and Bowie seems to like it too. Of course, she can do no wrong as far as he is concerned. 😊...See More- 7 years ago
