Changing the color of our existing stone exterior

Purchased a beautiful stone Home in Texas Hill Country (FBG). I wasn't crazy about the yellow/gold stone color but the house and the incredible view could not be matched. Well two years later I probably dislike the color more than when we purchased the home. While trying to figure the best way to alter the color we've noticed that the coloring is really just the surface and if you scratch through you are left with a beautiful creamy color underneath. I'm pretty sure it's limestone. Has anyone ever heard of someone sanding or "grinding" off the surface layer of stone to expose the underneath color? Any professional stone guys out there? I've attached a couple of pics. The column shows the darkest color but you see the edge on the second pic shows the actual inside of the stone. Also one stone has a gouge and clearly shows the under color. Just looking for advice on who to call that could help. Thanks.
