The Next Round Of FFOS and FFES
Comments (16)eri54, here is a picture of Dublin Elaine taken June 19th, 2013. I believe it is the best clump shot I have. Dublin Elaine has always been a good grower for us, very reliable and rarely singles. This picture was taken in the evening about 7:00 p.m. and the flowers look good, no melting out. Dublin Elaine Dick, a closeup of this photo shows a couple of insects. I didn't realize they were in the flowers until I saw the blowup of it. One is probably a grasshopper, don't know about the other one. Also, on the pictures of Good Impression and WB MCR and this one, there are little black insects, they are very prevalent on our plants. I have found slugs on a few flowers, and ants, too. Beautifully Embossed, just realized this is the first Maryott hybrid I have. Maryl, you asked about this one. This may be the last bloom, there weren't many buds on it. It appears to have opened up a little bit more than the previous blooms....See MoreFFEs, FFOs, LFO, and RSVP
Comments (11)Kay, are you not surprised by how many UFs are in this post? See how you have influenced me? :) Sherry, I cant imagine having wind all the time! I guess your plants adapt! Spider Miracle has that nice green throat that makes it stand out. Nancy, No Boys Allowed has performed fairly well. This is year two for it so that is a limited assessment! Thanks Brad-after having Spider Miracle for several years I am beginning to appreciate it many more. Debra, DV has several buds on two scapes so I hope to see more of the clean blooms in our heat. It is a lovely shade of pink. NBA has been pinker than normal with the cooler mornings-I expect it will return to normal color in heat. Nancy-Pink Jeans has that pure, clean pink color I really like. Julia-pictures could not show how impressive Yellow Mammoth actually was. Those blooms were easily 10 inches!...See MoreFFE and FFO daylilies on the 4th.
Comments (8)Great group Sherry. Heavenly Breezes stands out and Bluegrass Memories looks wonderful with that gorgeous blue eye and green throat. Reminds me a lot of Lavender Blue Baby. I like the feverfew (?) with Coast To Coast. Nice background for that bloom.Happy Fourth to you too. Julia...See MoreSome FFE's and Improved Blooms
Comments (13)Thanks all for your comments. I was particularly happy with those two purple seedlings today. Sherry - Fuchsia Sunrise does have an unusual color combination that I also find pleasing. Kay - The temps are down from 100 to 95 - cooler, but certainly not cool. Nan, Kate and Kay - Maney Augustine is growing in a shadier part of the garden, and the blooms have pretty much kept their color. It always makes a showy clump. Nan - I'm so glad to read your flowers are looking better too! Debra...See Moreorganic_kitten
