We have skylights in our living room. This time of year the sun (Florida) gets to be too much. I white-wash the glass and let the rain during the summer months slowly wash it away. In October, I get up there and scrape away whatever is remaining.

I can appreciate the skylight picture. We had a skylight in a previous house when my kids were little. I had bought some costumes from a local garage sale. One item was a glittery hat. My kids discovered if you left the hat in the floor under the skylight, it had an effect like a disco ball. They had regular fun moving that hat around so it caught the light.

Adellabedella, I love that story about the glittery hat. I have a couple of crystals hanging in my window (like Pollyanna, remember that?) and the afternoon sun fills the room with hundreds of rainbows!!!

Nhbaskets, we have e fond memories of Georgetown Cupcakes, and recently wondered if it was still in business.

DGD was 12 when we took a trip with her to DC. Finally got to Georgetown the morning of our last day only to find a long line waiting. An employee saw her Alabama T-shirt and stopped to chat with her as she was a graduate of Auburn. She told her she wanted to purchase some to take home and was afraid we would have to leave for the airport, so she took her and my DD out of line up to the store, gave her a box of 6 cupcakes and a quick look at the kitchen. DH and I waited outside. We enjoyed a cupcake on the plane ride home.

This bird perched on my deck railing yesterday. I've seen this type before, but I have no idea what it is.

blfenton, it is Coral Bells (Heuchera) and the name of this one is 'Cherries Jubilee'

Outside—what a sweet story! I was totally prepared for a line but was pleasantly surprised to walk right in, order and actually sit inside to enjoy a latte. We were there mid-morning on a Wednesday.
