Modern+Farmhouse+Coastal? Need help with living room design!
Comments (7)very nice room. The rug and that chair work, the sofa in the white is meh. (definite no in that gray color). but I think you can do better. I would have gone w/crisper whites and blacks and warmer grays. Maybe that PB rug is nicer in person, but in the photo the color looks really muddy. I like the ones in this pic,,,deep charcoal, whites, grays, touch of light aqua.. and this table For rug, I'd do a coloring like this one, or some of the others in the pics I love your floors and thing you should bring in some wood in your sofa, even if it is on the modern side. Like this: A walnut, style sofa like this, in a navy, charcoal, very light gray,,,would be perfect more blacks/charcoal, crisp whites, some texture, don't know what the plans are for the sides of the fireplace, but here are some ideas...See MoreHelp with living room design. Is this room too busy?
Comments (19)This is great. I think I wanted to be different. Everyone has coffered ceilings in their Craftsman homes around here. I saw some cove lit trays in some condos in NYC and they looked really good... so I was incorporating that feature. The great room has 14ft ceilings, so it is not typical height for a living room. Based on comments, I am going to simplify the design. Probably just do one or two (one dining and one living) cove lights to separate the rooms. What do you think? Comments (5)Here are more pictures from different angles! Right side of the windows theres a 62” opening that leads to the shoe area and main entrance door On the other side is the “dining room” that I made into a mini play room, not planning on buying a formal dining table set Thanks for all the help, we are debating between curtains and blinds, would love some curtains idea I know the rug is a little too big but culturally we sit on the floor a lot and are just used to the full carpeted floor feel so we tend to want to cover most of the area. Living room is a long rectangle 212”x126”, as the recliner can only sit 3 people I would love to find a way to add one or two accent chairs (advice on colors and type that would compliment the sofa?) The area rug is still returnable so I would love ideas on that The tv stand is non negotiable husband loves it too much and I dont know where we would put sound bar, google home etc without it The two options that I see are: 1- 2 accent chairs by each window between the curtains and the lamp in the middle or smthg like that or maybe one of the two round side table in the middle and shift the shelving unit to the left and add a small area rug to make it look like a different space 2- Put one accent chair on each side of the sofa which would kind of cover the entire wall and move the shelving unit somewhere else or between the two windows Hope this all makes more sense Thanks again...See MorePlease help with living room design/layout!! Comments (17)I think the sofa is too big for the room and for the furniture.....return it and keep looking.....you could take one of the end tables with you when you shop to see if the scale works with the table.....you might consider something long and sleek and not so fat....... I found these pics for inspiration for sofa and white rooms......the rug is minimasslist in pattern, so you might consider going that design way. Lots of legs in the room but gives a lighter look for more furnishing in the room. long low leggy with a low leggy chaise end. doable Again smaller tables with slim lined sofa with long low leggy.....your room is not really roomy so you are on the right track for mcm. Also tried to find white paint.....which is your room color choice?...See MoreBeverlyFLADeziner
