New Vinyl Windows with Wood Siding - No Exterior Trim or Small Trim?

My house has wood siding and we're currently installing new construction nail-in windows as part of our remodel (increasing window size, replacing a lot of the wood siding).

Most likely going with the Milgard Trinsic vinyl window in white, which has a relatively thick "frame" of ~3" all the way around.

Given that the window already looks like it has a 3" frame around it, I'm worried that if I add a 4" exterior trim, the white area surrounding the glass is going to look too big (will visually look like there is a 7" frame?).

Is it possible to not have exterior trim?

How do you do that with wood siding and not have it look unfinished? From what I can tell, no exterior frame seems to be more common and look better on houses with stucco, but I haven't seen pictures of how it can be done on houses with wood siding. My wood siding is the kind with a vertical "groove" every ~8".

If it's not possible, any recommendations on a nice simple small exterior trim to go with, maybe a trim that adds a ~2" frame to the window?

Thank you.
