I have a set of Basco that are almost 30 years old, will be replacing this year, they are still in excellent shape except for some mineral discoloration/etching on the glass. Typical for glass doors this old. These are sliders on a tub/shower combo. I have another Basco door that is almost 20 years old on a shower. This door has stationary sides with an out-swing door. It looks as good as the day it was installed. I purchased both a bathroom fixture store. I have found that the quality in the bathroom/plumbing fixture store is much better than the big box stores. I will be replacing the older one with Basco.

We're about to use Johnson Hardware on a 14' walk-up closet using the Johnson 100MD hardware. Even though this isn't a load bearing wall, we're going to use a structural quality lam beam in order to insure straighness and prevent any issues -- especially since we're thinking about hanging hardwood doors in the opening. Should work fine and look beautiful. Not sure why the "contractor" a few years ago was hesitant to do this.

I have done this and though not conventionally popular I love having my clothes near my shower but I have always dressed in the bathroom . I had a 104 sq ft area to fit a master bath and closet area and three large windows on three walls to keep the addition fitting to the rest of my older home and all plans that gave me a separate bath and closet all seemed to cramped in both spaces so we decided to make our new room look like an old fashion dressing room with a sink. The toilet is private, the ceilings are high and my fan is sized right for the room . My mirror does not even steam after a twenty plus minute shower set at 10O degrees. So no issue with moisture or orders. Do your towels and TP get dank in your present bath room? Is there more than expected moisture presenting in excess mold or a warped vanity? If not I think any closed wardrobes would work well. I prefer the clean line of closed wardrobes personally. I used IKEA pax and a year after install we have no issues with moisture. The frames are melamine I think and doors are hemnes wood in white stain. They hold so much and I prefer them to the walk in open storage I had in my last house. I like doors to give a sense of order in the room.

I have had Pax closets for 10years. I don't have doors on them but I have taken than apart and rebuilt them several times as I did things in the closet. I would never use a normal closet versus the Ikea Pax. California Closet is very expensive and less flexible in my opinion. I would use one of the Italian systems from Minotti but those were about half the value of my house:-) My master closet is a galley with two 6foot long sections with 24" deep by 96" tall Pax systems. They hold a ton of stuff. There are similar sized systems in the other bedrooms. I have kids that spend the summers with me and they have never damaged these systems. The drawers pull out easily and I have added some updates like the valet rods and Hafele pull down closet rod. I love the pull out shelves for my shoes. I have a small number of shoes:-) The other update I was looking at is some interior lighting for the units using LED strips. I know you decision is made but there is some misinformation about the PAX system. There are a ton of door options and even inserts from non Ikea sources. At roughly $90 for the box, it really can't be beat for value. There are some size constraints but most closets can support the Pax units.
