Does this look OK to you?
Comments (13)Franknjim, I only grow in pots and I don't cut scapes. My risk is significantly less than you guys who grow them in the ground. Besides, I can't resist a bargain occasionally. AND, they're like puppies, if I don't take them, who will? Also, I don't recall anyone who has mentioned getting a diseased plant from Lowe's. I understand the concern for buying bare root, boxed plants from the Netherlands that are sold at Sam's and Costco. But most all the plants at the major stores come from major vendors like Q & Z and Walters. They're grown out in pots and sold the next season. That's the same sources the specialty hosta growers use. Lowe's is not buying from backyard growers. It would take a major, licensed nursery to grow enough plants for Lowe's. Major, licensed nurseries hire trained horticulturists to oversee their operations. I would be more concerned with where some of the local nurseries are getting their stock. They're the ones more likely to be buying from a backyard grower. Besides, it was there. I didn't have to wait for someone to mail it to me. bkay...See MoreDoes this look ok?
Comments (2)I wouldn't be concerned about a little brown on the ends of growths or leaves. If the brown starts to spread, that is a different thing. Many things can cause leaf tips browning. Keep an eye on it and see what happens. I wouldn't do anything at this time but be observant. Harry...See Morepipe sweating: does this look OK
Comments (13)These Hansgrohe valves have to be suspended by the four ears on the back (tabs on green body) or via the adjustable (black) face plate. The system is great, the entire shower/tub line is covered by two (universal-ish) rough in boxes that have half the shower valve built in (supply and fixture connections, as well as the service stops). You can then chose from their line of trims (which includes the top half of the valve). I'm not connected with them, just think it's a clever system, when installed correctly. I hope the original poster was joking, when they asked if the sweating was "OK"....See MoreKitchen will be painted tomorrow-- does this look OK (pics)
Comments (13)(I also posted this over on the Kitchens Forum -- not sure where you spend more time.) While I am a h-u-g-e sucker for sheer grey-blue (given my use of it in my own kitchen), I am really, really concerned it will a) clash with your beautiful slate island or b) come off as too matchy-matchy with your island. (I'm not a fan of cutesy.) I'd rather see you go in a totally different direction, which I think you already did (with the yellow), and I happen to really like the yellow. I love how the yellow(s) you have (kind of like pale butter, right?) picks up on the warmth of the wood without being all "hellooo! look at me!" while making complete and perfect sense with the depth and tone of the island's slate blue. I really see the yellow as being a good supporting player to the elements you've pictured. It's not my kitchen, but I'm leaning toward the darker (left) yellow....See MoreHU-456297120
