What Exterior Paint Colors would you choose for our house?
Comments (3)I would not paint the brick. You take a no maintenance product and turn it into a long term maintenance issue. Deco has a good idea of beefing up the columns. If a new front door is not in the budget then paint the one you have and add a POP of color to the front of the house, drawing the eye to the entrance. None of your windows are appropriate for shutters. They would have to be so wide to cover the windows that they would not look right. If you're going to use white then use one color of white for the trim and the windows. If you use two different whites the one on the trim is going to end up looking dingy when seen with the windows. Your shingles are a brown so I would stay away from black. You could paint the trim taupe (brown/gray), sage green, etc. and leave the windows white. If you wanted to do a porch rail I would paint it the same color as the trim. New landscaping would of course also help. Comments (5)Combining emerald green and gray is tricky, and then it also appears you have beige carpet, golden beige shades and yellows in the rug. I think you can make the rooms work if you paint all the walls a neutral white - White Dove was a good suggestion. First, remove all your extra colored pillows and the rug so you are looking at the room with just the two main colors you need to coordinate with (the sofas). Put your extra green pillows on the gray sofa. Maybe you can use your gray/yellow rug under the dining table instead. I would replace the mirror on the dining room wall with large artwork that brings in the deep greens of the sofa to help coordinate the rooms....See MoreI could use help choosing paint colors for my brick home.
Comments (8)Few suggestions. I'd remove the shutters. I think they are too thin and don't add much w/the brick. Black and crisp white, portico over the front door If you wanted to try a bright white trim and deep black shutters, maybe, but I'd prob lose them altogether You mentioned Urbane Bronze. here's what that would look like w/tthe brick, somewhat, and a darker trim color or use the creamy white for the trim. your current white trim is too yellow looking. have you considered painting the brick w/Romabio? IT's a natural lime product. if you did that, removed the shutters, and painted your front door this light blue, it would look like this they used the Masonry Flat for this brick. I love the copper awning over the front door too. Here's the back and the colors used. (this Masonrty flat can be tinted any color) if you like the limewas look, Romabio Classico would be the option. (try it out. it will hose off in the first 72 hours if you don't like it. try a sample on the side or back) wood front door, limewash, and darker shutters. also new black exterior lights and gutters I really like the look of this one too. paint the trim around the windows in the urbane or the iron ore, and limewas the brick much more distresssed with olive green shutters Limewash, distressed brick w/Taupe and copper color accenting. off white trim color the masonry choice. heavier coverage. black accents similar home style. they did the brick w/the gray, and added a covered porch....See MoreKarenmo
