The space between the foyer and the kitchen, is that a dining room? An armoire or cabinetry can be fitted to provide space for files/binders, stationery supplies, etc. For a typing surface, it could have a flip-down table, or a rolling table that fits underneath when not in use. Doors can hide it all when company comes, or you could use the surface for serving and the rolling table as a tea cart. Side benefit, the dining room table is there for "spreading out" materials when you need to. And, you are near the action, but also a bit "away". Ok, about the fabric repeating exactly...I wonder if one 84" or 96" curtain panel will be enough fabric to accomplish this? This is a curtain panel that I found, not fabric. blondepegasus - yes, I will have the yellow ribbon on the curtains, the yellow in the fabric wall hangings, yellow pillows on the chair. Thanks so much for persevering with this, lascatx. It's very sweet of you, and no problem at all about the "out of stock". It's well hidden on most pages; I only know where to look because I've been running into it so much lately on my quest. The C&B Incognito was by far the best of these small cabinets by all accounts, but alas it only exists now in this knockoff: http://www.amazon.com/Proman-Products-Incognito-Compack-Office/dp/B0052O7SJK which is definitely on my desperation list. The Newman is very cool but I see that more as a wonderful solution for someone who uses a laptop without an external monitor. I agree that a rollout could be arranged for the printer, but my concern is that if I could fit my monitor on it (it's less than 18" deep), I'd be looking up so far to see it. Laughable, yes, having something made is an option, but I'd have to do a lot of looking for a cabinetmaker, because I'm pretty sure that the guys I know would give me something that looked like a kitchen cabinet that somehow managed to escape the herd. :) Here goes. Let's see if it posts this time.

Just a thought- if you have an air purifier you can take to work and set next to you that would be good. Even if it's an open cubicle at least some clean air will be next to you. Pothos and philodendron are a good idea. Floor plant would be a sanseveria, or peace lily, or a large split leaf philodendron would be neat.
