An odd assembly...

Annie Deighnaugh

From Amy Suskind:

It would also be nice if we saw some full-scale reporting and questioning of why VP Pence and Majority Leader McConnell were aboard Air Force Two with the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court yesterday. I seem to remember months long coverage of B Clinton and Loretta Lynch on the tarmac (maybe years long).

Now what would those three have in common to discuss...

All on the same plane? Is that allowed? We used to have "weight limits" on planes in our business...how many VPs, SVPs, Officers, etc. so the whole company wouldn't go down with the ship so to speak.

Here is a list of who else was on the plane yesterday according to the Indy Star.

"Those joining Pence are: Chief Justice of the United States John
Roberts, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, Democratic Sen. Patrick
Leah of Vermont; Republican Sen. Susan Collins of Maine;
Republican Sen. Lamar Alexander of Tennessee; Republican Sen. Johnny
Isakson of Georgia; Republican Sen. Sam Nunn of Georgia. Indiana
delegation members aboard the plane are Republican Sens. Todd Young and
Mike Braun and Republican congressman Greg Pence, who is also the vice
president's brother."

Wjow, not smart, IMO, to have all those heavy-hitters on one plane. Reminds me of the book by Tom Clancy, "Debt of Honor," where a pilot flew into the Capitol Building during a SOTU address. Only VP Jack Ryan survived as he was in a tunnel leaving the Capitol.
