Backsplash with Taj Mahal
Comments (22)Joanna, I am reading along here with the same dilemma! Fell in love with the Taj after seeing it in a kitchen our contractor recently finished in Roseville. I think it's your yours! With the beautiful crackle backsplash? I was thinking I'm in the same situation of not wanting to wait until the counters are in to decide since Gary will be moving on to his next job! Your kitchen is my inspiration! Beautiful!...See MoreTaj Mahal Slabs - Help!
Comments (11)Looks like some are honed and some polished? Might also have to consider preferred finish in making your choice. Prepare for some sticker shock! Taj is so hard that fabrication is pricier. Ask me how I know! My kitchen was 3 slabs, mitered edge. I love it and the Taj is bulletproof. Comments (1)I have these countertops and it depends on your color balance. every room should have light, medium, and dark tones. now dark doesnt need to mean black, but the darkesst tone in the room. for yu, it might be your floor or that maybe the lightest as we don't have sample pictures. If your floors are light, I'd recommend darker hardware and accent pieces. everything then would be very light and i would use a midtone (a color between your lightest and darkest piece) that has a bit of yellow or rust to it (though the countertop can be beige, gray, and white with a rust veining, it can also be green. So I recommend picking your exact slab of quartzite, because if you don't, you won't know which you will get. Anyways, my style isnt everyones, but this can give you an idea. The stone on the right has every color in the cabinets, back splash, appliances, and the countertop. So one of these colors, even in a lighter or darker tone, should work. If you can get samples of each piece and create a board for the room, this may also help you select the right color for you and your home....See MoreTaj Mahal slabs
Comments (11)Did you physically see the slab? If so, go back and ask them to pull it again and take a photo of the bar code sticker on the end side of the slab. That has all the unique identification numbers. Take a photo of the whole slab as well. Take a cabinet door (if you have it or any other element samples you have) with you and get a rep to hold them up while you take a photo of the slab. This gives you proof of your purchase, so you get the slab you ordered and paid for! I have done this many, many times and mentioned it here on Houzz several times as well. Good luck!...See MoreJeffrey R. Grenz, General Contractor
