Depends upon where in California. The climate range can be dramatically different in certain areas. You could go with muted greenish tan or taupe , darker than the surrounding homes, or ? 4’ overhang will help. If heat is an issue ( which it is in my 2d home in the desert ) consider window tinting ( it makes a big difference ) & interior solar screens on the windows more exposed. Mine are mounted above my moulding on 20’ expanse , very inconspicuous when open, see through when lowered. They’re not cheap but they protect my furniture, etc.

Go talk to the paint pros at a Dunn-Edwards store. Amazing palette and they're located in Phoenix. They understand our region's specific issues with the sun and can point you to the darker colors that will work.

Start by changing out the front door that doesn't fit with your home. The home also needs a modern landscaping solution for the front.

One thing you might think about is the amount of natural light you will get with the 4'

overhang plus the darker color. When I lived in Calif we had an overhang all around the house plus stucco was a dark beige. The builder did that to help with the hot summers.

I can tell you I had such a dark house. If you need light think about your choices.

I agree with Beverly. This is a fabulous house that needs the mid century modern touch. It wouldn't be in hot Palm Springs, would it?
