Anyone have white macoubas quartzite for their kitchen counters?
Comments (12)Kaysd, your counters are gorgeous. Lcskaisgir, what I meant by dull is that they seemed darker than yours or kaysd's slabs. I noticed that in the same cut as kaysd's they appeared lighter, but I wanted the cross cut which is more of a swirl rather than straight lines. The color of yours is what I am looking for and haven't found them. I went back to the same place a second time and they seemed to have more light coming in and they looked a bit lighter. I have bad lighting and am worried they will appear flat (no life to them). I have the same problem when I pick glass tile, they are all sparkly in the store and no life when I bring them home. I have to pick something soon so I'm in a panic state because I thought I could just do quartz if I can't find quartzite but even with that I haven't found anything that I love....See MoreAnyone Have Counter Top Regrets?
Comments (83)have finished the 4th remodel (wow 2 yrs since earlier post on this thread!). Used all white (no patterns speckles or veining) in MasterBath, Butlers Pantry Wet Bar, and as BACKSPLASH in Kitchen whose counters are Stainless Steel. (the rest of kitchen is all white cabinetry with brushed metal pulls). No qu that the white is stunning, crisp, pleasant. MasterBath is fine. Butlers Pantry: the white counter is unforgiving and shows everything. So on a second bathroom we chose white with a little gray veining and that has been excellent / easier. Kitchen all white backsplash with white cabs above below has been great and VERY easy clean (we cook a lot and use spices that stain too). But the all white in kitchen would have been intolerable as a counter for us. Stainless steel is not for everyone but 3 kitchen renos later, (2 remain actively in use) we love its cleanliness and the patina and very, very low maintenance. It looks surprisingly good with Cesarstone / Quartzite type stone products...See MoreAny advice on counter tops? Quartzite vs marble.....
Comments (8)Has anyone seen Mont Blanc quartzite used in a kitchen? I saw some slabs and they were quite lovely, but the veins were a bit more linear than I would like. (Yes, I am extremely fussy!) Taj Mahal quartzite varies immensely in tome and colour. It is difficult to find a very light one with delicate markings The thing that concern's me about marble in a kitchen vs in a bathroom, is that unless some people have strange habits, acidic liquids such as lemon, vinegar, tomato sauce, pickles or red wine usually don't end up on bathroom counter tops, but any of those will etch marble very quickly....See MoreIs SW Pure White too white for Monte Blanc quartzite?
Comments (2)I'd recommend choosing the counter that works with the less changeable components like your cabs and floor. Then find a backsplash. At that point you can find the correct wall shade of white. For the counter that means securing the actual slabs because they'll vary being a natural product. And checking the tones in your space with your lighting. Help! Mont Blanc VS Monte Blanc. Are either real Quartzite? (houzz.com) Take a sample card of the white with you....See MoreNewEnglandgal
